I've landed at MIA a bazillion times and maybe landed once on runway 27 and all the rest of the time on runway 09. Never landed on runway 30!

Oh it's a nice vidéo. I did one by night in my Channel, but it's better in day :)
Das war aber ein kurzer Bremsweg, oder? Schönes Video!

Again great job and thank you for the ride guys! Taking a second look, I noticed also that the First Officer is throwing switches while still on the active runway. I think it’s best to clear the active runway before throwing switches. Great job though. Happy Flying!

Great job! I’ve piloted the J31 Jetstream for a former U.S. Carrier, Corporate Airlines out of Murfreesboro, TN in early 2001. Fun, very manual, hands on, no Autopilot, gives pilots the opportunity to really sharpen hand flying skills (stick and rudder skills)! I must of logged over 600 hours, mostly in Beech 1900’s, also manual, no Autopilot flying, and the rest in the J31 Jetstreams alone, giving me the most natural instrument proficiency in later years in all kinds of light twins, many different King Air aircraft as well as corporate CE-500 aircraft types. Lots of fun and good memories. The only thing I noticed is the First Officer putting his head down in the cockpit while the Captain was still taxiing on the active runway. Personally, I’d ask the First Officer to stay heads up with me taxiing to parking, accomplishing only the after landing checklist and suggest writing down the On and In Times and any notes on scratch pad first, to be added to the Flight Log only after parking and Shutdown Checklist completed. Some airport and taxiing conditions will definitely warrant both pilots heads up at all times, looking outside to prevent incidents and accidents of every possible kind. It’s best to develop and maintain good habits right away, following all SOPs, Standard Operating Procedures. Hope my input helps. Charles, ATP, Former CFI, CFII, MEI.

At the 3:00 minute mark the plane is going by San Miguel mountain. You can easily see all the radio and TV transmitters on top of it. After that, it is flying by Sweetwater Reservoir.

At 4:13 you can see Dictionary Hill. It is easy to recognize because of the homes going up the the hill in a straight line. The hill is so steep that fire trucks cannot climb up it. At 7:19 is the Naval Hospital in Balboa Park. At 7:23 is the Starlight Bowl. When planes are flying in, the director hits a red light and all the actors freeze until he turns on the green light. As a tip, if you are going to fly in the direction of LA, be sure to sit on the right side of the plane. All you get from the left side is the Pacific Ocean. On the right side, I have been able to see Palomar Observatory, and when you get to the LA area, Disneyland, Dodger and Anaheim Stadiums, the Rose Bowl, and a big scratch in the earth known as San Andreas fault. Whenever I fly, I sit on the side of the plane that will give me the best views. I, too, like to take pictures. One time when coming into San Diego, I sat on the left side because planes coming in from the north go over near where I live to get into the landing pattern. I wanted to get a picture of my house from up there. From up there it was so small I barely got a picture of it before it disappeared from the window!

There is a You Tube video titled "Approach and Landing to San Diego Airport, July 23, 2023." It is a flight from the north and covers the whole time it takes to fly into SDX: from turning inland and east to get to there this video starts.

Landing in these conditions is very dangerous and should not be done unless there is an emergency. In order to land THIS CAT 2 AND CAT3, both the pilot, the plane and the airport must have this infrastructure.
