I first did this fight as a choir build (Arcane build) at the part of the song where the choir swells Ludwig powered up the Moonlight Great Sword for that slam attack at the same time I released Call of the Abyss (shooting stars spell) we connected just as the female vocalist go HAM and it was such a spectacle I still remember it to this day😄

I always loved this fight man. It’s like the art/dev/music teams sat down and explained the entire vision and everyone just “got it”. The entire fight feels great and matches the music but the second phase is simply the highlight since it feels like you’re doing some sort of waltz with Ludwig it’s like you’re simply dancing with him.

The first part of the fight is lacking, as well as the music. then he finds his sword, and the music finds it's melody. Then, you get to see the dance the fight was meant to be.

I hope people realize that in this fight, you go through everything BB has to offer. Phase 1 is a perfect beast boss fight where it’s a savage, vicious fight where there’s just blood and screams across the room Then in phase 2 you experience both the sensible swings, dodges and voice of a hunter, while also being able to witness the power of a great one in full with all the insane arcane attacks from the moonlight blade. The game shows another theme of bloodborne with the sparks from the blade blending with splashes of blood from each strike, representing either the thin line between a sane human and a savage beast or the influence of great ones mixing with the lives of man and beasts. (depends on interpretation) In conclusion: best BB boss

Just beat this guy in ng++ after vicar Amelia and while it was a pain at first, I was extremely impressed at how few of his moves I thought were bs, honestly he only has 3 bad moves (the phase 1 charge forward if you’re at point blank range, the white projectile in phs 1 when he spams it, and the bite combo cuz his back half has a hitbox during it)

In the wise words of max0r, the best way you can describe this fight is „holy fuck I’m alive right now“

Though the second phase is quite very easy on a normal run and ends way too fast, it is for sure the coolest boss phase in the entire game, and it probably isn't even close.
