Coming back to this scene occasionally like a lost child to it’s mother

This scene with the large tree and the one where Joe gets rid of everything in her home to "get over her nymphomania" are definitely the best scenes in the movie(s). "Nymphomaniac" is the true Melancholia movie.

@@agonivpyre616 Yea, unfortunately it's not the one from the film. The one in the film is octaves lower with the main theme. I had to make my own version from the movie, and splice it with the original piece. LOL

@@jacobladder2491 yeah you're right on that one. I thought Lars von Trier played it with cello instead of violin and that's why it sounds lower, but I may be wrong

My two favorite scenes of this movie are when joe is utterly alone, in silence. Lonelyness and tears. In the hospital bed as a child and in this scene.

It resonates with the virginity losing scene from vol.1 but here it depicts the humiliation

I may be the only one but the revelation of the lone, crooked tree atop the mountain and the ensuing realization that this was Joe's tree terrified me more than any horror movie scene I've seen my whole life

Same, the scary part is how much I relate to this, i feel twisted in many ways and lonesome, just like this tree.

Everybody is in the "dark" but the kid, then the parents come to collect their child and they walk together into the light, with them all subtly smiling, after years of sadness and frustrations. Such a delicate movie.

5 hour long film. Its not the sex scenes, not the abortion scenes, not the BDSM scenes that stick with you, its the scene of tree that stays with you. Profound and beautiful.

YES YES YES omg this scene was created beautifully. It made me breakdown. Her finally finding someone something in this world that had excluded her from everything was poetic almost.
