March 15, 2019----Thanks for the video, but had to look where it was filmed. Eastern part of Stockholm archipelago in Norrtälje Municipality if anyone's interested. Got that from Wikipedia. What would be interesting is someone doing a video on maintenance of these things no matter what size they are, getting them started in cold winter and of course, the cost. No doubt this one ran $50,000, maybe more?

Very relaxing to watch. Very 80's somehow. I was born (1966) just before the era of the great channel-crossing hovercraft (UK). Never got to go on a flight alas. Good to see Bill Baker Vehicles is still going today. A more elegant mode of transport for a more civilised age.
Dude this is so awesome that thing drives like a car. What wave height can your model handle? I really like the fully enclosed/personal size.

I wonder if they use these alot in Alaska? It seems like it would be perfect for up there. You wouldn't have to worry about when the river freezes in the winter since the rivers there are basically their highways, and then ofcourse you could use them when the river wasn't frozen, and then on the snow to. I know they're expensive but it seems like it would be cheaper than buying a boat, quad, snow mobile, and truck.

Hovercraft have a nearly 50 year history in Alaska and Canada. They're used to to travel across the tundra without damaging the environment. Hover barges were used to carry semi trucks across rivers and carry equipment to build the great oil pipelines. Canada regularly uses them to break up ice in rivers during the winter.

These are cooler than speedboats. You can use them all year and you're not stuck just to the water.
