More pictures reveals that one of the pier supports failed probably due to scouring and push effects from flowing water and debris. Hence probable causes is scour effects of the support footing beyond the critical length of piles. It does not have to do with bearing self as explained above. Thanks

The tables have some abreviations of Ch1 and Fh1 and so on. I used these to symbolise the diferent loads as per my definitions. However, when you look at the applicable literatures and Eurocodes, you will get the right terms and symbols taking you forward. For example, Ch1=1.35Gk+1.5Qk, where Gk is for Self-Weight and the Dead Load due to other fixities and Ch1sls=1.0Gk+1.2Qk for ULS and SLS respectively. And for Fh1=Gk+Qk+Wind Load. Wind load is multiplied by a reduction factor as indicated in the notes and Eurocode. All i am doing is to introduce you to a culture of reading widely while using my examples which are for demonstration and giving you the confidence that, it is possible for you guys.
