Is it funny how the guys that sell HVAC systems always say you need to replace your HVAC system at a certain time even if it’s working? Fuuuuuuuck off

But hey, you messed up that Gutter, which honestly needs replacing, when you put the ladder on it like an absolute dumbass.
@icthruyou4824Ай бұрын
Never leave your wires near the edges for this exact reason. Panel screws are pointy enough to ground out a wire if it’s big enough.

That panel has more wire in it than the rest of the house does, apprentices weren’t hungry the day it got put in?

Funny how much he talked about the proper screw. Yet used a powered drill on it. A powered drill to secure those screws, can cause it to catch a wire and end up where he said about pointed screws. Always use a hand screwdriver for those. But i guess thats why hes a "know it all" inspector and not a better paid electrician. -edit BTW I'm so sick of you mofos, taking my screws out and not lining the slot of the screw North and South.... Make my panel look ugly to anybody truly in the trade.

Meh... itll be ok
@dickcheesewizАй бұрын
It would trip breaker if the screw punctured the insulation because the screw is grounded to the panel.
@xmsreАй бұрын
Not to mention it can literally electrify the entire chassis…
@whiplazeАй бұрын
It can’t. If the hot wire shorted out to the panel it would be a dead short to ground and trip any breaker the circuit is on. If it would be the service wires with no breaker it would basically explode and burn the screw or wire until it loses connection
@xmsreАй бұрын
@ looking at the state of it who said the panel was grounded (earthed in my country im adapting which is rare of me)

It’s funny that all panels I have seen are designed that poorly. You shouldn’t need special screws. They should design the panels where the scre spots swoop in and the screws end up external. None do though even point the idea of having something pointy with file like metal ridges near the wires is still dumb.
@icegamer8973Ай бұрын
Those old panels came with those kind of screws
@yyz2go2112Ай бұрын
No doubt you just know how to route your wires in a panel so they're nowhere near the screw

They are fine. They just say it isn't allowed because each manufacturer doesn't test the other manufacturer's stuff and doesn't want to assume liability.

I’m a home inspector. I did the inspection on the home I purchased for me and my wife. There were very few issues, but the only big one was the crown was one of the worst I’ve seen. Was complete rubble, with 2 flues that were in tact. The top rows if brick were exactly like the video (which I find on probably 25% of all inspection). I was able to negotiate a $3,000 credit for the damaged crown and loose brick. Once I bought the home, I took all the damaged chunks of concrete crown, and top 4 rows of brick off. Did a lot of research and spent 2 days doing the repair and $70 in concrete, some hand tools, and about 15 bricks to replace any damaged ones. It came out great. I even formed the crown to have about 1” overhang from the brick, gave it a nice pitch to water sheds properly, and put expansion joints around the flues, before sealing them up with a flexible exterior sealant. I was very happy with the outcome and basically making $2,930 off of my credit!

To be honest, thermal camera is quite great tool for an inspector, so maybe it should be a standard procedure for everyone, not just a premium inspecting service.

That is exactly the kind of thinking that should send up red flags for buyers. Painting thr hose cover means he didn't want to take literally 10 seconds to do it right. It is never good when the seller is heavily incentivized to cut corners and trust me as a landlord who has rehabbed houses to rent, if they cut a corner like not removing a hose cover there is much, much more to find. Honestly, I'd just walk.
