I am huge fan of Golden as well. My paintings are made on a base of Golden heavey body colours. Expesive … ? It’s like vine, you can get very low prices wine, but what’ the point? God wine, god food, good raw materials are expencive, and you can choose what level you want to use.

The first explanation of color mixing and buying paints that has been clear and concise--I feel so much more confident in creating my colors than ever before. I'm sure I waste far less medium trying for colors that are vibrant and beautiful.. Every new artist should view this video before buying one tube of paint other than white or black!!!Thank you

Clear gesso can be extremely gritty and damage paint brushes if one wants to paint. But its great for using pastels

Great idea, but this video could be soooo much better with some editing. Watching her drop paint was a bit boring, speed it up to keep your viewers engaged. And don’t talk while your using the dryer, cut out the middle of these so we know to dry it, but don’t have to sit through watching paint dry. I would have also liked to see more techniques, it seemed like she just got started but then the video was over. Anyway, just some thoughts, you might not agree and that’s okay. You do you, it’s all good.

So much fun! I have a bunch of Ecoline inks and don’t use them much anymore since I’ve been working with collage. How do you apply these papers for collage without them reactivating? Does the heat gun fix the watercolor ink?

I've used gel medium for years to glue stuff and then decided to try an acid-free PVA adhesive (liquid glue like Elmers but neutral ph). I was so sad it made the papers wrinkle. :( I didn't even think about it before I bought it. Back to gel medium. Thanks for the video!

I have test high end paint from the best company all over the world not all but many, and i can say golden is unbeatable overall, on some color competitor can be as great really, but overall at the end golden win, from the thickest of their line to the watery consistency, golden do the things better, ant their customer service is no comparison! I will test the paint system from guerra paint and pigments, you buy dispersion pigment and the binder and you mix them to crate paint, mayby golden will have a competitor, they have mayby the largest collection of pigments aviable, i've see the quality of grinding they makes in vidéo, it seems that is mayby the best i've seen

@juliebishop68982 ай бұрын
I'd like to know that too. I do know that acrylic inks dry to a crisp texture from my own experiments so the Econoline watercolors will be more flexible when dry

What is the piece of paper that you put the inks down onto? The layer that covers your work surface?

Hi! Anneliese has a non stick craft sheet by Ranger on the table and then uses a sheet of wet strength tissue for the Ecolines.

I recently took an on-line workshop course, "Experiments on Paper," from JO. As a hand papermaker, collage artist, vintage furniture restorer and chalk painter and art teacher a lot of this in-line art school information was quite new to me. I had built a 950 sq. ft art studio/art gallery in 2002. I was part of a consortium of working studio artists called The Blue Coast Artists in West Michigan. I created, taught and sold my botanical canvas's and other product I developed as well as the work of 25+ other artists in a more traditional brick and board business. What really impresses me about JO is her cutting edge social media work and her on-line art courses. at which she is a master. This is an all new "niche." In 2018 I downsized and closed my business due to my husband's cognitive and physical decline - we could no longer maintain 5-acres, extensive native gardens (from whhich I made my handmade papers) his blacksmith shop, chickens etc.. I now work on a small sunporch on a small table and create collages in watercolor binders - artwork that feeds my soul. You can find some of my artwork on Pinterest at Donna Allgaier-Lamberti, Mixed Media Artist. THANK YOU FOR THIS INTERVIEW!!

Question, since this is watercolor, what is the best medium to adhere to journals? Regular gel medium?
@EverythingArt2 ай бұрын
Hi! Once the tissue is dry you can glue it down with some plain PVA glue (the low cost fluid glue, milky when wet and clear when dry) or any gel medium product (thick or thin, different brands will do the same job e.g. Mod Podge). But since this is a tissue and very thin, you can even use a glue stick. The important thing to remember is that you tissue should be completely dry before you put any glue on it, otherwise you will smudge the colours (watercolours, including Ecolines, are permanent once dry). Hope this helps. Have a great day! Kasia

I liked the effect but I don't know what you mean by "my mat." I didn't quite understand that substrate you were using so I was lost from the go. If I missed this explanation, it has been a long week.

She is adding the ink to a brown teflon or heat proof craft mat, (often used for baking as non stick mat or for crafting - readily available and not expensive) which will allow the inks to bead up in little pools. They clean up really easily. You can also get white ones which means it is easier to see the colours. The card she is using is watercolour card and then watercolour card with a layer of gesso. Hope that helps.
