Can I sew horsehair braid on brocade fabric?
@laidieclothu149412 күн бұрын
Yes! Absolutely! but I would recommend hand sewing first before running through the machine, to reduce snags and bunching.

Does this pattern have the option of using a zipper instead of lacing?
@laidieclothu1494Ай бұрын
Hey! Currently the pattern is only available with the lacing option
Wonderful video, especially from a young lady. My love of Old Hollywood brought me to discover the wardrobe aspect of moviemaking during those glorious times. You did a fabulous job of helping direct your audience's attention to costume design as a standalone topic for moviemaking. Thanks for your hard work.

A good beginner's tutorial. However,......I've been a Fashion Designer and a 'student' of Costume Design. Jayne Mansfield IS NOT/WAS NOT a fashion icon....by any stretch of the imagination.

@@laidieclothu1494 I get that you are focusing on costume design - some of the choices that you focus on are time-sensitive; there really were no other choices for that time period. And, this is your personal view - I think you did a fabulous job. Some people may never have heard of specific actresses and you were able to bring them in to the conversation. It's up to us, the viewer, to choose whether or not to learn more about your choices. Great job.

Thank you - I rarely see this aspect of dressmaking addressed. The waist stay absorbs the stress and tension of the wearer in a tight fitting garment, and prevents the seams from accidentally tearing open. Great explanation!

What is the name for the medallion or pendant (don't know the correct term terms) that Bennie (Redd Foxx) wore in the casino? I think it's most prominent in the scene where Sugar Ray gets him to put on his glasses

Thank you for this video. I never thought that this was not always a pre conceived ideal. For me, the best example was bob Mackie for carol burnett.

Thank you for your wonderful lesson 😊 I like sewing and i took it as a hobby and i am always eager to learn more because it is always interesting.. Mostly I use the cutter, standard scissors for fabric and another scissor for cutting paper patterns. But zigzag scissor I found it not that useful especially finishing the seems if i would like to use it on most the fabric especially on satin. So I do instead the French seems. But again wonderful tutorial and always looking forward to see your next wonderful videos ❤
@laidieclothu14944 ай бұрын
I agree about the zig zag scissors, I haven’t found them useful for dressmaking unless I’m working with linen or organza and they are usually just temporary, until I apply a finished seam. Thanks for your input!
