Can anyone if they see this help me, please? When I was really young, I started cursing but school and other stuff got in the way, so I stopped for a really long time and now I don’t remember how to anymore and my mom wanted to start it up again with me but the problem is is that we got really thin yarn and I don’t really know if I can do anything with that. And when I see online, making animals and and clothes needs to be out of thicker yarn than what I got. It’s incredibly thin to the point where when I sow a row, it’s not even the size of my finger… a lot of tutorials online are too fast for me to keep up with or have weird angles of the hands so I can’t see what they’re actually doing and I have to replay every 10 seconds at least

if you have multiple balls/skeins of the same kind of yarn, you can crochet with two of three threads so you have a thicker yarn.

I knew this video is old but, hi, it seems to me mine didn’t come with tension guide. I usually just hand tension because there’s not really another way I know of. Could anyone help?

Is there a way to make the ruffles more pronounced? If I did more rows on the ruffle panel would the pattern still work the same?

this looks like a monstera borsigiana, not delisiosa. also called small form / large form monstera. they are slightly different varieties and this one will likely never produce those big leaves with inner fenestrations like monstera delisiosa does
@alecschon68654 күн бұрын
it is also possible that you do indeed have a delisiosa that just needs more light. but me, i tried for years with my plants until I discovered the difference. i bought a large form monstera and it gives me bigger, beautiful leaves with half the light and no moss pole. look into it

Mist the moss pole regularly thought
@Glizziemcguired5 күн бұрын
Monstera actually don’t need moss to grow upright. A regular trellis or a pressure treated plank works quite well. In ambient humidity we’ve seen 100% success in growing tall, fenestrated monsteras without the moss and the mess it brings. The need a physical support moreso than the localized humidity.

It may seem counterproductive, but using the moss DRY when building a pole can actually be super helpful! I usually hot glue it all over the pole, then tie it or wrap burlap around it. Maybe it sounds messier that way, but it’s not. People say "moss must be soaked or it repels water" but that’s simply not the case. Yes, sphagnum moss when dried-out is briefly hydrophobic, but it just needs to be soaked or watered some more. And you don’t want it to be wet all the time, actually. It’s not necessarily true that moss poles MUST remain moist, at all times, as so many say. Think about a tree, even in the jungle, where the bark will inevitably dry out at points each day. The roots of the vine are sticky and need to adhere, which they do to areas of "texture", that aren’t completely wet. That’s how I and many other ppl have pothos growing up the bedroom wall, because the roots will stick to anything! Haha, and I def don’t mist my walls inside. I’m very paranoid about humidity 😂 But the pothos does it’s thing.
@briiicd5 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing this! I recently made my first moss pole and it dries out in a single DAY because I live in Canada and it’s dry AF 😭 but I wondered the exact same thing about pothos managing to cling onto DRYwall lol 🤔

You totally lost me after you cast the sleeve off the machine around 5 minutes. I crochet but I’m confused what you’re doing. Are you just making a single row all the way around the top? What pulls out?
