I prefer both this and Rid Of Me over the originals honestly. I get so much haye for that but she brings sooooo much more edge to it, raw emotion and sexual tension. She killed this.

Too true - she was the first, and is one of only three women, to ever win the Best Director Oscar, she won for The Hurt Locker. She is a master - Strange Days, Point Break, Zero Dark Thirty & The Hurt Locker, are four of my all-time favourite films. Bigelow, ain't just BIG, she's HUGE!

Besides the one cool invention of recording memories, what else is cyberpunk here? It's the modern world, no high-tech, no hovering cars, no cyber-implants, robots, clones, etc. Even the guns are today's tech.

This movie is a textbook example of why I collect physical media. Good luck finding it streaming anywhere, which is a shame because it was truly ahead of its time and just as relevant today. The scene that always gets me is when Lenny is sitting in his crappy LA apartment, drinking vodka while doing playback of him and Faith rollerblading then making love. Perfect representation of living in the past, rather than the present.

Went to see this when it came out. Didn't realise that Faith's band was doing PJ Harvey numbers at the time - I'd have known it now but I haven't seen it since it was in theatres. Strange Days was completely ahead of its time. Should have been a much bigger movie than it was. Needs to be on streaming so I can see it again.

@MilkoOfficialChannel7 ай бұрын
How is it underrated? These “underrated” type of comments are something I’ll never understand.
@abcun177 ай бұрын
@@MilkoOfficialChannel It refers to the fact that despite the quality of the movie, it is not as popular, appreciated or as well known as it should be. Of course that depends if you love/like the movie and think it is worthwhile. Case in point look at the streaming and physical media availability for "Strange Days". Or the soundtrack and novelization. Even if by some miracle it still airs on cable, it is more than likely the censored version. Is that clear enough?
