@@Foldalatti the software and controller is old type , by 'Tram pro' WWW ianroessociates.com [email protected] But it is only for commercial use Look at west midlands metro tram driver training ,they have there own training set which now uses a replica of a tram cab and full console

They had an amazing accelaration and motor. Yesterday I was watching a video of the Midland Metro in 2005 and I used the stopwatch to count how many seconds it took to go at a speed of a least 25-30 MPH. It took 11 seconds! Amazing accelaration! RIP T69 1999-2015.

Don't forget they were smaller ,lighter . I've seen an Urbos accelerate like crazy cat on steroids,that was when it brand new and on test . They have since updated the software many times since . They have speed limiters on them Have to think of the passingers falling over it goes off to fast 🤣

I always thought these trams had the door opening and door closing sounds the wrong way round. That being said, I do miss these quirky little buggers.

@@andyandy709 Would you consider uploading it? I would be very grateful if you could as the motor sounds were much better back in the 90s - they used to make a growling/ whistling type sound and were much louder than they are today.

@@365networker2 might be on 4 DVD I made ,has 323s on it. It's called - west midlands multiple units , by anbrico felixjaz no ZF05 Videoscene sell it now . It's mostly dmus ,and old emus , but has some 323s on too. I still have the original master tapes but there. vhs-c & I don't have away to convert them to DVD now and I've got loads and loads of tapes ! The clip is not long anyway ,just the seats , to be door closing . I will look at my copy of the DVD I see

There's 2 sounds, both are the door closing Alarms , the quiet one is the original one, the loud one is a newer one. Not all the T69s had the loud one, and it was loud sounds like a emegercy alarm😜

Does the Midland Metro use old British Rail tracks between Snow Hill and Wolverhampton?

It uses most of the old track bed from snow hill to pristfield then turns off and goes via road,the track bed has been completely replaced from BR days , bridges track etc

Don't get too excited everyone! Booth Street to Benson Road is barely a mile and Grand Central to Centenary Square is not much more than half that! Even a Tesla has a better range than that.

They only using a short hope on battery power to keep them charged up and ready and all the system electrics constantly working, a tram can and HAS run a full round trip of 32 miles on one charge .

It could possibly be the springs on them. A conductor told me that the Urbos trams have spring suspension, whereas the old T69s had hydraulic suspension.

i assume you mean Tram station announcements? yes loads of them on almost every films clip ive done, thats about 200 dvds with 45 mins on each dvd ! starting from 2011. but for youtubes sake ive cut them off has the announcement is made well before the tram comes .

Loving the new blue livery. Much better than pink! Rode on the Metro today. First time I've been on it in 11 years. Proof of how long it's been, last time I rode it they were still using the T69s, and they still terminated at Snow Hill!

The cab design is pretty much identical to Electrostars from the time. In fact, these 172's, unlike the ones with Chiltern or the ex-London Overground units are unique in that they're (as far as I can tell) the only Turbostars built with connector corridors built into the cabs, enabling passengers to move from one unit to the other without stepping outside of any unit

You are correct, 172/2 and 172/3 units are the only Turbostars wit end gangways.
