So, counterpoint - Loss of power is still a problem for modern vehicles. The only difference here is we have had years to perfect how to handle the situation should it happen and decrease the chances of it happening. The same would apply for this "Ion Hover Bike" or any other vehicle. The first design will be sloppy but look cool probably and from there is would be inovated to solve problems until the devise was usable for common travel. The advantage I see to this happening is quite massive actually. Roads, for one, would not need to exist. You could replace them with pols with reflective signals or wire fence guides to direct people in their lanes. We could eliminate the cost of road maintence and those materials/labor could go to other needs. The cost to maintain the alternative would be significantly reduced. This also means we can raise the elevation of roads a few feet of the ground. Go high enough to be just above tree canopies and we won't need to deforest for roads. A lot in terms of motor transportation would change. We might even just say F it with roads and have a sky that would look similar to Corisant's traffic lanes.

I personally think that the Great Elder Ones are basically us spectators. We are costantly watching the story and we are the cause of all the evil that happens to the Saurians since we are the ones who want a good story to see. And despite we are interested, we are actually not interested in anything more than a show, leaving to others the role of create the story, unless one of the characters become so good that we start to make fanarts and fanfictions about them. And we actually have no concept of life and death in Saurians' perspective because for us they are nothing more than a show. Sorry I know that it has no sense but it would be cool😂

Fun Fact: an Ion Engine is used in The Martian(only mentioned in the original book by Andy Weir) for the Hermes between Earth and Mars for the Aries missions and uses Argon as the Ion source. The trouble was that you need less fuel to get to high interplanetary speeds, but the acceleration was worse than the chemical burns used currently. There is also a nuclear reactor onboard to provide power for both equipment and the Ion engine.

think he knew the sabertoth lived up in the ruin, and he originally just wanted it to kill him (since it seems he wouldnt pass the winter on his own anyway, plus with the grief on top)... until he realised from the knife that THIS was the predator that took his son, one he tracked before but never managed to find. and he did accept before that it was jus a hungry predator that tok his son and that there wasnt anything truely wrong with that... but the grief was too strong for him to just let go, hence why he quickly regrets it after dealing that killing blow

It should be noted that Fort Cameron (and the greater complex of The Citadel) is called a 'Castle Brian' or Cheyenne Mountain on a *_LOT_* of hard drugs. They eat double-digit megaton nukes *_FOR BREAKFAST_* and, as such, were only _mildly_ inconvenienced by the blast. So, personnel donned their CBRN gear and cleared the rubble from the entrances, allowing most of the division still inside the mountain-turned-fortress to sally out, which included _at least_ a flight of ASFs. Oh, and these guys fought for _at least_ a day... until Amaris sent one of his battleships to orbitally bombard the place for an hour straight. Then, there is the fact that the Blackwatch infantry was going through Amaris's bodyguards like a scythe through wheat. When Amaris hid in the throne room (and later the panic room behind it), the Blackwatch jump infantry (infantry equipped with jump packs) breached the place using satchel charges. They were a hair's breadth away from killing Amaris when the remnants of the 4th Dragoons busted into the place via an IFV through the doors.
