The owl's eyes in the dark really look like something from "Looney Tunes" lol. Nah, but owls are silent killers. That bird didn't have a chance, let alone seeing the attack.

I swear I saw a different iteration of the video. it wasn't night vision, but the surviving hawk was really spooked. It knew what just happened with wide-dilated eyes. it wasn't the night vision camera.

If you think, it wasn't, then you aren't familiar with night vision picture.
@joenathan35173 ай бұрын
@@vadimpm1290 night vision uses the Infared spectrum to see. that's how you usually see those glowing eyes that see in the dark. I was speaking about the same video that from my memory showed the event with colored non-Infared lighting that showed the eyes dilated. Haven't seen the vid since that one time. so I can only say it was a different iteration of the video. I can only presume there were multiple cameras from this angle if my memory is correct.

Did the owl take the adolescent hawk?
@jeffbryan40194 ай бұрын
The owl rules the night . They have no regard for hawks or eagles when it's time to eat or serve an eviction notice . The eagle owls and great horned owls have the same grip in their feet as the bald eagle does . Eagles are completely helpless at night when ambushed by these powerful owls . The great horned often preys on red tailed hawks ad well as other owls . One was observed attacking and killing a grown bobcat in Arizona . The northern great horned owls are known for killing porcupines quite often . They will knock the animal from a lofty height and then finish it off for prey . Great Horned owls are also adept at snaring sleepy mallards from lakes and ponds . Almost anything that moves about at night is vulnerable to falling prey to a great horned owl . Great blue herons and turkeys both wild and domestic are sometimes taken as prey .House cats frequently disappear due to a hungry owl . The eagle owls are even more formidable hunters than the great horned owls .

In the wild there is no strongest animal or bird. Even the owls get attacked during the day by falcons and eagles or snakes and the cycle continues.
