The Sten gun was actually not reliable due to the fact it was prone to jamming due to cheap construction, A similar issue plagued the American M1 Carbine which was not reliable in cold weather but also popular with British troops via lend lease both in WWII and during the Malaysia conflict

Typical NIMBY's. If you do not want to contribute to producing more electricity, then come up with plans on how your villages will consume less. People who have land and own houses in this country are a freaking joke and have way too much sway in the way things are run. They consume vast amounts of resources but moan about how it is produced. You dont want nuclear, you dont want solar, you dont want wind - either on shore or offshore, you dont want gas driven turbines or, worse, the trash driven ones. But you all want to watch netflix and surf the net and go swimming in your pools later. Quit your moaning, stop breeding like cattle and come up with ways to consume less or use what you have in more efficient ways. Why are supermarkets still allowed to even have open air refridgerators that have no doors? Why are the majority of them still using flourescent tube lighting. Why do the majority of supermarkets have no roof insulation? The last one you are paying for so why would they care?

I remember my grandad blowing my mind a little bit when he told me he'd had a sten and a load of ammo, up until the year before (2003), when he'd handed it in during an amnesty. And my great-grandad had an old webley service revolver that he just buried somewhere near his house, in theory it should still be there. I've considered going up there with a metal detector, but if I did find it I'd be in some big ol' trouble, even though it's probably a lump of rust by now. Gotta wonder how many like that are still knocking about unchecked 🤔😆

Would you recommend the HDMI only or SDI version for a run-n-gun backpack stream? I’m leaning towards the HDMI because of the cost, but worried I’m going to regret not getting the SDI. Which cases you think I would need the SDI over HDMI? Thank you and great video.
@solo16Broadcast11 ай бұрын
We always go with SDI but thats because we feel its a much more reliable cable choice. It also locks the cable in place.
August is one of the two worst months to go to South Korea as the heat waves are tremendously harsh with temperatures range from 33C to 40C. It's not the time nor the month to go to an event like this. I wish they could go in May or in Sept/Oct. Better weather for sure! I do hope they will be alright and come back safely. Remember this: Health is your wealth.

IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU BUY - The liveu Pro (and now the regular solo as well) touts it can send SRT (which is faster, more secure and has less packet loss the RTMP) - but the solo unit does not actually send SRT. I talked with LiveU support and they said the SRT endoding does not happen in the unit. It happens via the LRT cloud bonding. If you don't use LRT you don't get SRT. This means that the unit itself is not sending the SRT. And the whole point of using SRT (at least for me) is to reduce bandwidth needs and packetloss. Since SRT encoding does not happen in the device there is no bandwidth savings when you send the stream to the LRT cloud. Once the video hits the LRT cloud it gets converted to SRT and then sent where ever you direct it. So from the LRT cloud to your destination the bandwidth usage is optimized because of SRT. But that has no impact on your own bandwidth usage from the Solo unit to the LRT Cloud. So if anyone plans to use SRT to save bandwidth from the unit to the LRT cloud, it won't help at all. And, if you want to use SRT, you will need to PAY for the exspensive LRT.
@AaravD-ze1bs11 ай бұрын
The Bandwidth reduction comes from using H.265 encoding instead of H.264, not because of using SRT instead of LRT..

As a Korean citizen, I am sorry for the youth of the world who must have been inconvenienced and insufficient in preparing Jamboree. Now, Korea is experiencing the greatest heat wave ever. Most Koreans are very interested and sad about this incident. I'm also worried about whether students will be okay in this heat, so I'm looking for a new updated article. The government and companies are doing their best to support goods and deploy manpower for the rest of the year as the next best option, so I hope they can relieve their parents' anger even a little. Health is the most important thing for teenagers in the world. I will pray for the students until I finish this camp❤🙏

Is the monthly subscription required to use the LiveU Pro? If I just wanted to stream from home using a single ethernet cable without the cellular bonding would I still be required to pay the $45/month or $450/year just to use the unit?
@TomSykesMedia Жыл бұрын
No. You can stream using a single connection for free but it’s rather pointless buying a LiveU just to do that.

I currently live stream weddings using Slingstudio and just hook up to the venues wifi and it works okay most of the time. But we want a more reliable set up. Would this Live U pro be good to use with slingstudio or is it overkill and I should buy just a cheaper portable modem and get two sims etc? Or is the LiveU pro perfect for my use case considering the sling studio is already an encoder etc

I am not sure TV galleries would be able to ingest SRT as standard. Their MCR may be able to set this up but I don't think it most gallery engineers would have a clue how to take it. TV works very simply, it has to work first time and within their expected and tested workflow

Srt will be useful for vmix. One thing I wish they would implement is the ability to control destinations from the unit itself. The whole point of using it is you don’t have a good web connection but then if you want to swap a destination you have to log into the web portal
