This used to be a Dover, then modded in the 90's by general. Modded again by otis in 2011. Then it was pointlessly modded yet again by otis in 2017.

UPDATE: Today, Jun 1st 2024, Was this elevator's final day of operation. According to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) permit records, this elevator is receiving a full mod or replacement from OTIS. New fixtures, motor, controller, doors etc. This Dover has survived the 1999 ruining of the imagination pavilion and the DVC lounge addition in 2016. In 1999, it received only a slap on GAL Jet PLUS mod from General. Other than that, the elevator has been original and running strong since 1983. RIP 1983 General/Dover. Let's hope the OTIS mod will be at least somewhat decent but it probably won't be. I put “Final Ride” in the title as I think I’m the final person to film it. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

Yeah. They removed the glass feature while they built the DVC lounge. And sadly, this elevator is gonna be fully modernized by OTIS. The mod is gonna start next week. Sad.

Those fixtures have no confirmed names so far, and Series 3 was never used on European OTIS Gen2 and other models. Strange how these elevators have a mix of Asian OTIS landing panels, European car operating panel and Newer Series 2 floor indicator inside.

They need to program those NACs for System Sensor sync. Or, if that can't be done, they need to install some sync modules.

Some buildings are synchronized, some aren’t. My school has like 7 different buildings along with recently installed portables. It’s difficult to explain.

@owensanto4004K ye yw, I've been on the Anthem of the Seas, and they're just about the same thing. They have a dedicated motor room above, they could be using mrl machines but i highly doubt that especially since what they're made to do.

Couldn't film these ones as a staff scolded me before I could enter, so instead I could only film the European Gen2 in the lobby. Btw these are Chinese OTIS made by OTIS Electric Elevator (formerly Xizi Otis) in Hangzhou, China.

Never been on a Schindler marine elevator before. I've ridden KONE marine elevators countless times before (since I work on a ship) and they run almost the same like the regular ones you would find at land. And most importantly is that they're far more robust and durable.

Here’s the interesting part - the shipyard where Odyssey (Meyer Werft) was built typically uses Kone. The same applies to sister shipyard Meyer Turku. Now, we see non-Kone elevators on Meyer Werft/Turku ships, such as Schindler Marine onboard Odyssey and other Quantum and Quantum Ultra ships. Even more interesting - Carnival’s Excel class ships (Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and assuming Carnival Jubilee as well), use Otis Marine elevators, rather than Kone.

@@elevatorsofcentralflorida Yep, the ship where I worked and has KONE elevators was built by Meyer Turku. Some ships built by French shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique also use KONE. Those that were built by Italian shipyard Fincantieri mostly use Schindler because their marine elevator division is based in Genoa, Italy.
