Bonjour! 😊

Thank you! If you had taken the pollen from the salmon zinnia and placed it on the ivory receptors, would you end up with the same resulting flowers or would it be different? More salmon colored, less salmon colored, etc?

A few questions! I am so sorry!😅 1- Can you do this if you purchase a mix? Like Fair Mix? Or, do you have to plant each color separately, then cross-pollinate? 2-when you cross pollinate, do you do it on BOTH flowers? Or, just one? 3.) Do you cover the ones you want to cross pollinate, and then when they are open, cross pollinate? And continue covering until the seeds are ready? Thank you so much, this is sooo helpful!! The best video I have seen! 😊 This is soo amazing! I want to try this SOOOO bad!
@TheArborFarm
@TheArborFarm 21 күн бұрын
1. You can do this from a mix. Any zinnia will work. 2. To cross pollinate, you'll take the pollen from one flower and place it on the pollen receiver of the other flower. 3. Yes. Cover before they open to protect them from naturally being pollinated. Keep covered until the seeds mature. Thanks for watching. Have fun pollinating! 😊

Thanks for the video .. was just wondering about 'trimming' the sunflower as it grows .. does it require any of that (cutting lower leaves, etc) or just let it be?

No need to trim a sunflower. In fact it’s better not to as it can hinder blooms. Thanks for watching.

All that work is so hard on the manicure wasn't it? I try to wear gloves as much as possible but it doesn't take long for me to rip them off and throw on the ground. Soil and all that work dries out the hands terribly. I keep wanting to propagate my arborvitae but always find something else to do that takes up my time. I am a huge fan of living walls/barricades or privacy screening. It can be very windy where I live so something that can take some wind gusts is preferred. thanks so much for sharing your method and of course your wonderful smile. You made my day.

Hello! We were inspired by your video to make one of these, but we’re going to have 5 sections/bays instead of two! It’ll be massive. Any tips on making sure the holes are the exact same depth so the structure doesn’t sit unlevel?
@TheArborFarm
@TheArborFarm 4 ай бұрын
That will be a lot of fun! We’re pretty old school around here. Measuring the depth of your hole, making them all the same, using a level on top of the structure before filling in the hole and adjusting as needed is our best advice. Hope you have some people to help you! Here’s to a great season of growing on a trellis! ☺️
