Was trying to understand how the antireverse bearing works in an abu garcia ambassadeur round reel. Not sure if works exactly the same way but this gives me a better understanding of how it works. Thank you so much!

Arrived as expected with all parts intact, also included two hex keys for assembly. kzbin.infoUgkxwOUUBdw8-88Iu4QnQS7q6b2NwZkHiYVl Had to adjust mine slightly to fit my bike, this was easy enough with instructions. I bought it to train with my track bike and found it to have resistance similar to climbing a slight gradient. Takes a while to learn to balance but there is plenty of guidance to help on the internet. Edit: There was more resistance at lower speeds because of the number of contact points but at higher speeds it is much easier as you don’t have to contend with drag.

This is the type of bearing used in the main drive gearbox on many helicopter designs around the world. These bearings are located in the coupling between the engine and the rotor gearbox. It is what allows the helicopter to autorotate in the event of an engine failure.

Do these types of bearings have less free-wheel drag when not applying torque compared to sprag and one way needle bearings?

How much travel is there from input to engagement? A lot of rachet-type wrenches have a 5° zone of no engagement.

I remember breaking my rivet extractor in the 1960s trying to push out a pin in a Reynolds cycle chain. Because the pins were swaged over, you couldn’t remove them. Your video says I should have used an angle grinder? Phew, not on a cycle tour.

Whoever made the sprag clutches for Triumph motorcycles needs exposing, pure crap!!! Not to mention the design team of the Triumph engines that require splitting to replace the starter sprag. An insult to engineering!

Do these transmit radial loads? Do you need to use a needle roller bearing with them?
@MrPattara237 жыл бұрын
they could, but efficiency would be very poor since you only have sliding and no rolling contact.

I need a one way clutch for a hand powered bicycle. This design seems perfect, just not sure about the longevity. I actually need a pair to work in unison, one for the pushing action, one for the pulling action.

@fredjohnson93778 жыл бұрын
Are you still out there? I have designed and am using a hand powered bicycle, or actually an attachment to a moutain bike hybrid. Looking also at design I have CAD for using a one-way clutch rather than a freewheel. If you want to talk about it with me, drop me a line at [email protected].

Maybe completely useless advice by now, but there is also the Onyx (onyxrp dot com) hubs, they have a big selection for almost every discipline of cycling. Check them out.
