This is why the game couldn't be remade today. These sort of secrets added nothing progress wise, but added such a bit of creative flair. It felt like the designers put them there for love of the series and just for fun, even if most of the secret vehicles were bad for completing missions. Today you would have maybe the rocket car as a nod to the original game, and an achievement/trophy for finding it, but thats about it.

Isn’t there a cheat code to unlock all the secret cars for all the levels once you’ve 100% the game on the PS2. If anyone knows what that code is please reply and let me know

When I first played this game I only thought levels 1,2,4 and 5 had hidden cars since they were the only ones out in the open. Eventually I realised the others must have as well. I still remember spending hours upon hours looking for the planet hype 50’s car. Good times.

Fun fact: If you put in the Red Brick Car cheat in Level 1 (and possibly other levels but I've only tried in Level 1), the Red Brick car will appear where the secret car usually does. 😉 *Edit:* I have the GameCube version in case it's different for other versions (but probably isn't). 😃 *Edit #2:* Last night I found the monorail too, and earlier today I found the hidden car in Level 6 (while using the Horn to Jump cheat).
