@@southayrshirestalking I’m 80+ at Peterhead and lost my golden dog about five weeks ago hence I wondered if you would have a golden male one for sale from your litter? There’s plenty black ones for sale Aberdeenshire but not many from a working strain and IMHO that’s the best source for one purposefully needed for deer tracking. I’m in the field like you most days and after 12 years it feels a bit strange without my companion. Love the programme Regards

Really good enjoyable episode, why set music to the stalk though ? I'd rather hear the morning birds singing ! ? I've also never used a thermal, much rather enjoy the sport of stalking with my bino's and relying on skill .. but I'm only a recreational stalker 🤷 , well done chaps
@southayrshirestalking4 күн бұрын
Hi there Ryan, thanks for tuning in bud, aye the thermal thing is certainly a personal choice, and we undecided for a long time to be honest, but the job came first and it is a really good tool. But 100% know where you're coming from. Keep the feedback coming pal.

At the base of a tree it's always a hare. I think I saw this vid first time around and knew it then. If your home ground held munty - and one day it will - you'd know that it's always a hare couched at the base of a tree. That said...... Chris is the Brandecosse Ambassador and I'm not!

Thanks bud, aye every day's a school day, and to be fair to Chris, I've stalked into tree stumps thinking it was a roe more than once :)

Love this show and the new format. I would like to see more vermin control such as fox, crows even rats etc. maybe some air rifle action would be good. I use air rifles on a local farm not too far away from you to great effect. Also can I buy one of those south Ayrshire stalking polo shirts ? Great show guys even though I don't do deer stalking I have never missed an episode. I have missed the shooting show and I am disappointed that it has disappeared without trace. Fieldsports Britain seems to be watered down these days. Your new show is top of my must watch list. Exciting times ahead. Thank you south Ayrshire stalking for doing this.
@RabMillar6 күн бұрын
Hi @mercury8180, We will be featuring more foxing and air rifle segment in the near future. If you are nearby maybe we could get you involved if you were up for it? Then you might earn one of the shirts.😂🤣😂🤣😜

The great thing about the two of you is the un-scripted banter / chat which makes it soooo much more genuine and a better viewing experience. As an idea, more descriptive "reasons why" during gralloch, stalking, foxing etc: - know you ground (how?), the importance of wind and planning routes on the basis of wind and how wind "swirls" on your patch. - Not rushing your stalk and going slower, quieter and more observant - Always thinking "if i was a deer, where would i be in this weather" and identifying good and bad grazing areas. All these things i have had to learn the hard way (in commercial forestry) and has really made a difference.... just an idea chaps. All the very best CHS
