Got to watch him in Norfolk a bunch of times. He is going to be good!! He just has to remember a hit is better than a home run, hits make runs and the home runs will come. Good Luck to him, now back in the majors!!! Was Lucky to get an autographed international league baseball while in Norfolk.

Finally. I've heard so much about the dude. He'll fit in. The Os have a slew of lefty batters at their disposal. Good to have a backup either to start or pinch hit late in games.

Bust. Only 10 home runs in the minors this late in the season? Forget about the .059 average in the majors. I'm sure Yankees want JH to be called up. They need that negative WAR to cost a key game or two. That said he may be okay with a few years in the minors
@slayintricks46822 ай бұрын
He’s on pace fore 20 or more homers this season. That’s not bad at all.

Man this guy is the very definition of a five tool player, if they can get his whiff rate a bit more manageable he seems like he has superstar written all over him. What a pick for #22.

I'll be honest I'm pretty set on Bradfield being the replacement for Mullins. We already have a surplus of Bats and not enough arms. Why no pitching? Did we draft him just to trade him if he does become good?
@ReyWard-t3w2 ай бұрын
I agree with you but from what I am seeing we may move Bradfield at the deadline 🤷🏻♂️🇺🇲
@oriolesfankyle2 ай бұрын
We will see. Both need to improve their general hitting and contact ability. I think Honeycutt has a little more upside though
@dimitrigats2 ай бұрын
@@ReyWard-t3wI have seen absolutely no mention of this and I follow the team daily. Do you have sources?
@xlmacro87542 ай бұрын
Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel like drafting BPA is generally best in the draft. Can always trade these guys at surplus positions later for positions of need. For example: Ortiz and Hall for Burns. Ortiz was a really good infielder but was never going to see play with the logjam of good infielders that we have. So we flipped him + Hall for a Cy-Young candidate on the last year of his deal.
@garrettmr39232 ай бұрын
@xlmacro8754 Yes, true and orioles have drafted many pitchers and watched it not work out. However, when trading for a talented pitcher we will always be in the same situation for how we acquired Burnes. Give away high ceiling guys for 1 year of an ace then we either let him go or we drop the bag on him. Meanwhile Milwaukee has their everyday 3rd basemen for a few years to come.

@jollyroger612 ай бұрын
He got drafted by the right team. Only issue is the K%. Westburg had similar issues in AA, and the O's fixed them. Per J.Calls of MLB, if O's can turn his BA into league average, O's will get a 30/30player, with Gold Glove defense in CF. He could potentially be a homerun , like Gunnar.

@BrutallyOrange2 ай бұрын
I changed my mind, I wouldn’t be comfortable with the Os trading him for Crochet/Miller. I’d be comfortable with them trading him for BOTH of them, but not just one. There’s something about his size and swing, then you see that he’s still a teenager? Nah this kid looks like boys amongst men and you don’t see garbage pitchers at AA Bowie. That homer where he looked like a lad Guerrero Sr, but he hit a homer instead of a basehit on a ball that would have bounced before reaching the catcher, probably home plate, that’s just different.

After his performance vs Oakland today, I think its safe to say we can put the fork in any such talk.

Pretty bad start in Oakland, but development can take a long time sometimes. We’ll see what happens
@jimmyp4102 ай бұрын
If I'm Elias, I'm not trading Mayo, Holliday, Cowser, Kjerstad, Norby, or Basallo for a playoff rental. The insane amount of potential they have, the fact that other than Basallo they're all major league ready right now, and they're all on rookie contracts with multiple years left just makes them too valuable to justify getting a pitcher back that's entering free agency after the season.
