The truck is currently setup on a 275 radial tire. Plan to to run it in some local stuff and do Drag and Drives with it. I've never used one before so I'm also interested to see how much it can handle.

don't they make a billet bellhousing kit for 700R4, and the 4L series transmissions from GM?

They might and they also make them for this th400 but it broke too far back unfortunately. Check out the full length video on my channel! 👍
@jeeper42627 күн бұрын
@@TeamHybridRacing ouch, RIP i know on the Chevy Blazers, and the K-Series pickups with the TH350K and TH400K there was a torsion rod that ran from the bellhousing bolts down the sides of the tranny to the rear and attached to the tail housing and the side of the T-case on the driver side to prevent twisting the bell housings off under 4Low operation, i wonder if something like that could be adapted to fit this application granted you'll need a new shell in this case
@TeamHybridRacing27 күн бұрын
It shouldn't be much of a problem going forward. We are changing the crossmember, double checking alignment of everything and making sure everything is bolted down. Can't 100% say the cause but we're going to cover all the bases. I have the same set it my car making 1200hp and it's never had a problem

Hey man been following your setups on facebook. Especially over the drag and drive. Any chance you have a video of doing the tow bar/parachute mount deal?? We used to shut the gates on our altered and use a switch under the foot brake to limit the rpm. Didnt always work but when it did we could get good boost on low rpm for bad tracks. Keen to follow on and see how you go this season.

Hmm I don't think I made a video on building that since it was before I started the YT thing. I plan to this winter try to do a few in depth videos on the car for various things.

I dont know how big your turbo is but some people are using a really small shot of nitros to spoll up the turbo in a second or two. I dont know if your setup would benefit from it.
@TeamHybridRacing2 ай бұрын
I'm all set now. Playing around with the adjustments in the video really helped! I'm anti dual power adders and in some classes I run it's not allowed. Another thing folks do is run dump valves for the transmission that helps as well. You are correct though some people do that especially in the 6 and 4 cylinder world.

I was taught that probably 25 years ago when I worked at an auto garage. Warm soapy water, wet sand, buff. I'd randomly do it for the hotties that brought their cars in for something. It was a good payoff.

I’m going to assume you have smaller valves to achieve that 1.72? I just ordered a btr kit and on the box i’m getting 1.780” but from what i’m reading, BTR says you don’t need to shim it but it is a good practice. Going off an old forum post. Any other insight you might care to add?
