I actually saw a second Build video on this just the other day. But as far as how I like it. It lends itself more towards the clacky side, but that being said, I like it a lot. I love the styling if I did not already have the R1, I would really be looking forward to the R2 because they're going to be fixing one of my minor gripes, which is the front of the drawer is PC and has no option for RGB, LOL. Seriously though, the build is kinda complicated and I don't know that I would've routed the ribbons as they did, but it works, so that's fine. All in all, I paid 110 dollars for the B Stock and I think I got a steal (the only issue I found on the B Stock was some errors in the CNC on the inside and you can't see them, so they're fine.)

@@ChrisJames024 Any idea when R2 is being released? I am not really an RGB fan so not sure I would wait unless they are changing something else. I tend to toggle RGB off on most boards.

So, I built mine out for him and I'm going to go pick myself up another one today (Although I think that this time I am going to get the Q3 Pro, which is also on a crazy sale).

Yeah, but the bigger tradeoff is that the wired does not operate the screen... so you can have either the leds or the screen, but not both on the QK100... you can have both on the Zoom98, but it's bigger, heavier and their software implementation is MUCH worse.

Essentially, I use 3204 which is a much lighter lube to go over the existing lube. I only lube the housing and not the stem and then I bag lube the springs. My goal is to remove extra lube and move the rest of it to the places where I want it.

The wired only, hot-swap, pcb has per-key RGB and is VIA compatible, but it is wired only and does not support the screen... So you have the choice between RGB or screen and wireless

The lighting is per key and the Wired PCB is configured through VIA

The Tri-mode doesn't have RGB... Essentially with the QK100, you can have Tri-mode + Screen or Wired + RGB, but not Screen w/ RGB. The Zoom98 does both, but it's bigger and the Screen software kinda is not that great.

Who is CS? I am having some similar issues with zFrontier,I ordered the numpad for the KAT Big Wave keycaps set and it still hasn't arrived.

Yeah, I love them so sad. I was sad to see that Akko ending the CS line because they were no longer working with that switch producer and moving to someone else (which is producing the Pro v3 switches which are, in every way, inferior) So I ended up scooping up some CS Crystal and some CS Snow Blue Grey, so I had some for when i wanted them. I need to also get some Rose Red somewhere, since I loved those as well.

@@ChrisJames024 Maybe there is a lot of back story I am missing. I haven't used the pro V3 switches yet but I thought they were highly rated. In what ways are they inferior to the CS switches? Thanks again.

@@ghost_of_m403 Oh, the ones I tested do not sound as good as the CS switches did. I only tested the Crystal and Piano switches, but they're significantly more clacky than the CS switches and had more spring ping. (Re)lubing them made the spring ping go away, but they just didn't sound as good... And obviously it's all subjective and preference...

Cannonkeys had the Zoom75 in stock recently so I had to pull the trigger. Didn't know much but I heard a lot of good things. It's now my daily driver. I sit in front of the computer more than 8 hours a day because of my job. Somehow I find myself typing more than usual because of the satisfaction the keyboard brings lol now I'm looking to add more budget/mid tier boards like the KBD8X MKIII and QK75N.

It wasn't bad at all. I have since given this keyboard away so I can't really do any tests, but I do know that they use the keyboard to play Destiny 2 without an issue.

@@DadTech1981 I didn't know there was a flex cut version, I got the tri-mode. Usually if there is a flex-cut option then I get it. Sometimes, depending on the other options this might change things. In the case of the QK100 I bought the flex-cut PCB initially, but then I decided that I wanted the RGB, which is only available on the wired-only PCB which does not have flex cuts (and also does not operate the screen) so I change up between the two PCBs depending on my mood.

It took about a month and a half... but once QK shipped it, I had it in my hands in 3 days... For comparison, I ordered my Zoom98 through KeebsForAll in October and it *might* start shipping this week.

You should post a video when you have it built. The HI75 is pretty solid to build without having to do too many mods, but I think that the force break is pretty necessary.

@@ChrisJames024 I can definitely look into posting something when it’s complete. I’m going with the Akko V3 Pro Yellows. Not sure what keycaps yet. I have a set of Razer Phantoms, but there are ABS, so idk.

I do always prefer Dye Sub PBT myself. I don't know about the Razer Phantoms, but I have never been impressed with Razer's aftermarket keycaps, they're ABS and also kinda thin for my liking, giving a very plasticky sound. The HI75 can only do so much ;)

I love the sound of the MT3 keycaps, but in the end I decided to switch it up to Spellbook Cherry profile keycaps... I might go back though. It really did sound the best. If you like the MT3 height then I think it's a great choice for this board

Well, today I have been typing on that GMMK Pro that i finally got a sound out of that I find very nice to type on. Tonight I will be putting my brand new KAM SuperUser keycaps on to my Monsgeek M2 and trying that out. I'll be posting a sound test tonight on that one. That is full foam configuration. And I do think it's really nice as well. The combination of the foam, with the clacky switches and the dye sub PBT keycaps are what give it that sound.

Thanks! I think that it sounds really nice especially for a larger plastic keyboard. I think that the new V# Max keyboards are much better than the original V# series. I had a V5 previously (that I have since sold) and it did not sound nearly this good. Of course, it was much earlier, for me, in the hobby.

Those are the KAT profile Mizu Midnight keycaps and are still as of today (03/11/24) on sale on Canonkeys.com website. I don't know if the Midnight are still in stock though.

These switches didn't have any spring ping that I could hear. I may lube them with 3204 to reduce the bottom out on it, but that would be about it. Now I also *just* got some MMD Ice Cream v4 and these things seem to be even better. I am going to be receiving my NEO80 tomorrow and I am planning on dropping them in to that keyboard and trying them out.

The flex on the HI75 is a good amount of flex. It's a 1.2mm PCB w/ flex cuts. there's foam, but there's still flex. Quite a bit.

This is with the PC Plate, which is the only one that I have at the moment.

Except the spacebar, which doesn't really come through as much, but has the most satisfying sound.

Well, maybe, I have been trying different switches. I tried the lubed Bluebird switches in it and they were alright, but I think that I liked the Crystals in it more. right now I have CZ Studios Z1's in it and it's VERY poppy, but in a good way. I think though, that I will go back to the Akko CS Crystal switches though.

They're not bad, but they're a lot better when they've been lubed. I lube pretty much all of my switches, even if they come prelubed. With certain notable exceptions. In the case of prelubed switches it would be for sound and to even out the factory lubing.

Funny story, only the wired non-flex cut PCB comes with RGB. The Trimode PCBs are all RGB-less. HOWEVER, the wired non-flex cut PCB does not support the screen. So, on the QK100 you have your choice between RGB or Screen. I have both PCBs and I have been using the screen for a while now.@@diegopalacios1874

What keycaps do you like? I like these, but I like a lot of keycaps that have more blue to them.
