Thank you for doing this. I just learned about this. I'm a swimmer and not proud of this country's history. While my family has always enjoyed swimming anywhere and everywhere we wanted. Nobody should have had to experience what Black folks have had to endure. No wonder there is such a discrepancy between swimmers and non swimmers

Just bought the 24--105 f/2.8, my dealer had 11 in stock, sounded pretty happy to sell one. Anyway, I love it. I usually use Panny GH series for video, and dabbled with my R5 and R6 II, but I have the 28-70 and 85mm f/1.2 and those lenses are pretty heavy so to mount on a tripod just seems to put a lot of stress on the mount. I'm sure its technically not a problem but I love how the 24-105 has the collar and foot so can mount the lens to the tripod for interviews. Plus the other benefits of image stabilization, large aperture, etc.

I subbed you.!!
@ajwilliamsmedia

That’s a great video idea! It’s good because the lens you should use depends on what you want the video to feel like. The closer you are to the camera, the more intimate the viewer will feel. At 50mm you feel like we’re having a conversation in a public place. At 35mm you can stand closer to the camera and it feels more like a private conversation and at 24mm it’s even more intimate. But you also have to keep in mind the limitations of the space you’re filming in.

@kashifswaynerobinson
@kashifswaynerobinson 3 ай бұрын
It's a nice lens, but it's too corrected , to the point where you don't even get the 24mm field of view from it. The best RF lenses you can buy rn are the designs canon initially announced when RF out became a thing. They are over correcting their newer lenses too much to the point where they have deal breaker flaws.
@ajwilliamsmedia
@ajwilliamsmedia 3 ай бұрын
It’s a common misconception that this particular lens doesn’t give a true 24mm field of view. It does, but the focus point is around mid-lens. This gives the illusion that it’s more like a 25 or 26mm lens when comparing to another 24mm, in reality you just need to back the camera up about 4 inches. This was tested pretty well on Sound It Out Films channel. Check out the video here if you’re interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4LQoIeAeL-CfJosi=m6OTSqe--wXCc_u5

For anyone in the apsc rf realm , buy the 24-105 f4 and boost it for a " cheap " 16-70 f2.8 On the other hand get the 24-70 2.8 and boost it to get a 16-45 f2
@ajwilliamsmedia

I’m actually thinking about getting the Ef 24-70 for that exact reason. But there are so many features that 2.8 version has that f4 version doesn’t. If your only concern is the look, you’re mostly right (I think the 2.8 version wins there too).

@ajwilliamsmedia
@ajwilliamsmedia 3 ай бұрын
It really depends on what you’re filming and the kind of depth field you need your image. The primes will definitely give you better bokeh, But you’ll have better reach with the 18 to 135. I always base those kinds of decisions off of what I want to look like.
@LouisLuzuka

@@ajwilliamsmedia I agree, but my fear is that if I want to have a longer reach ill be sad if I left the tele on the longer end, but then once I get the shot I have to lug around a Pringles can size of a lens because that shot will only be for specific cases, so ill test it out this weekend and hopefully it works out!
