The base timing is supposed to be like 8-10 . Overall timing is much higher like you saw. Remember on the old vacuum advance distributors, to set base timing you had to unplug the vacuum line to check it and set it. Old Fords (my '89 for example) that were fuel injected had what was called a SPOUT connector, just a jumper block you unplugged to set base timing. I'm sure Jeeps have something along those lines. I just got a '92 Wrangler so I'm learning myself.

I still have mine and it still looks like new. I guess that's because I bought a body bag for it when I first bought it.

When changing sensors always disconnect the battery ( positive and negative) and touch them together for about 15 seconds. This allows the computer to erase its memory and start with a new sensor data.

I found one of these bad boys while looking through some of my dad's things. I have no clue how to use this camera, nor anything else needed for this beauty to work

The biggest thing is they claim color holdout is compromised. Otherwise it’s fine to use just about anything on hand to tint bedliner. I did some ramps a few years ago the same way. I had some tintable bedliner left over from another project, threw in some leftover acrylic urethane for color. Save for the inevitable damage that has happened to them from throwing them around and dragging crap across them they are fine and the color has held up well.

Id love to hear how this has held up. Im about to tackle painting my '90 Winnebago Warrior 21ft class c motorhome. I want to use raptor, but i need to cut costs but don't want to do it if its going to peel or not adhere well. The siding is filon (fiberglass)

I love the Sony CCD-VX3....had mine for almost 5 years at this point.....recently I used the VX3 to videograph a local event and a few weather storms not to mention a few vids here n there of my golden retriever. Amazing that your VX3's tape deck apparently still works.

What black rust inhibitor did you use? And, what size tires are you running?

One thing to keep in mind is, depending on how a vehicle has been driven/maintained, the harmonic balancer can become displaced from its original position on the crank. In turn, putting your timing marks on the pully off. This is what happened with my jeep 4.0 and the only fix was a new harmonic balancer. Just something to consider...

You could just get a clearclick AV recorder and then youre all set. Ive just bought the 4k version to see how I get on with more recent mini DV ones (more experimental than anything else but I want decent quality) as there is a LOT of interest in re using old machine like this. Wont cost a lot either
