I think the soft fabric of the dryer sheet is safe on vehicle paint. There is really nothing abrasive, almost like using a normal washcloth or rag.

Nice! How do you keep the tail following in the line of the nose? My tail always slides/skids a bit, and I don't get that pencil thin line that you are making.
@lukejuras80243 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the compliment! I have been chasing pencil-thin all last year, and learned a million things along the way. When we first learn to snowboard, you use your feet independently to twist the board for skidded turns, but when it comes to carving you have to have NO twist, feet working together. I'm a teacher, and my plan is to hopefully put together some instructional videos once I get it figured out to the point that I can explain it better. In the meantime, check out the James Cherry - secrets of carving, 9 elements video. That's what made the biggest difference in my carving after 20 years of doing it the "wrong way". kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZXapHxjhNehqNEsi=vWwjcQY1_P338vB8

Holy moly! Good one! I love that you made this video. Also, you're explaining it perfectly! What you say is exactly what us boarders should be doing in that exact way!! Well done! H O W E V E R........ 🙂 That person that smoked you hammered into you from behind coming in in a straight line from half a mile away. There's only yourself on the run, and you're making perfectly symmetrical turns... Yes, you should have looked up the hill. And yes, the other person didn't even look down the hill!! I think this particular case is clearly not your fault, and it's admirable that you made this video regardless.
@brianp92689 ай бұрын
Yeah it drives me nuts when theres only me and 1 other person on the run and they choose to even get close. A lot of people just aren’t thinking when they ride and I don’t mean that in a harsh way.
@Jim-fe2xz9 ай бұрын
Well that's good for your own safety but we all know the basic rule of downhill skier has the right of way. The uphill boarder had a clear view of you, could see that you were making consistent carved turns yet made no attempt at all to miss you - in fact looked like you were his target. Carving is a legitimate maneuver & much safer than "straight down the hill" (Always ski under control rule) types. No excuse for not looking where you're going & adjusting your path as necessary. This all works if everyone sticks to the basic rules. I've been skiing since 1972 and have never had a problem missing people or ever hit anyone but then I'm not part of the "I, Me, My" generation. Be kind and considerate and everyone has fun and is safe. Thank you for posting
@Croz899 ай бұрын
I get the sentiment, but I've been there when the run is crowded and there's lots of people of mixed ability going at different speeds with less predictable lines. Or when someone pops out behind trees or other visual obstructions. Sometimes it's not as easy to maintain distance, and despite best efforts there's a collision. Sometimes making it easier for people behind you really helps in those situations.

@@lukejuras8024 I was stuck at the same point with duck stance. Impossible to get my shoulders and hips turned more into heel side, doing the classic, sit down on heel side. I switched to 18/3 and that has helped me get turned into the curve on heels. Still a work in progress.

Commendable performance! But I question the practice of kicking out the 1st valve slide to go from F to E. The E is horribly sharp and the valve combination from 1st to open is not difficult. Suggest you rethink that.
@lukejuras80249 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! In the recording, Harry James does a smear from F to E, which I was trying to accomplish with the valve slide. It's not just a simple slur from F to E, which I probably could have notated better in my transcription. I tried half-valving and it didn't sound quite right. But a year later, I would probably do it by just bending the note rather than trying to move the slide.

Dude, it doesn't look bad! This is going to sound strange but try carving with a ski pole to improve your form. The entire pole has to have contact on both your quads. If the ski pole never lifts from your legs when turning, your form is perfect!
