Great video, what strikes me about my families home town is that as a community Sittingbourne has always and can still pull it out the bag as a community. It’s the people of Sittingbourne that know the town and love the town, those that have made it their home and not just a place to live, but a place to live in, that makes the difference. I know some Towns and villages that claim to be a great place to live, but have hardly any activity that involves the community and therefore may be a pretty place to live but as a community can be lifeless. Keep it up Sittingbourne we may not be the prettiest town but we do care and continue to take #pride in your community, it’s a rare quality and after all, we were also the home to the largest Brickworks in the world and made great paper too! Not many Towns have such a large and innovative industrial centre either.

A town to be proud of! You have got to be joking! Forget those green fields, most of them will be built on very shortly with more houses we don't want. Schools over subscribed already even without more housing (therefore families) adding to the issue. Rubbish roads, almost gridlock at certain times of day or when the M2 has a problem between Sittingbourne and Faversham. Don't even mention potholes or the general state of repair of the roads either. Oh and the badly thought out Spirit of Sittingbourne (I wish I was joking but I'm not) where shortly after opening the road layout a lorry and a bus got stuck trying to negotiate it! A multi storey car park which had its lift vandalised before it had even opened (glad I don't have to use it) and it's an eye sore, but then again most are. 3,300 people per GP, so good luck seeing a doctor! Also Swale desperately requires its own proper hospital to stop relying on the under pressure Medway hospital (put it just off the A249 before the Isle of Sheppey, wouldn't be a bad spot). About 50 years ago Sittingbourne used to have a population of around 25,000 people, apparently it's now around 50,000+ and the infrastructure (I use the word loosely) hasn't been upgraded or added to in any meaningful or helpful way. Sittingbourne used to be OK (just) but all I've seen is it getting worse over the years, just speak to any resident who has lived here for a while and you'll get the same story.

Choked with cars due to terrible roads grid locked most of the time with a council that isn't interested or care about what once was a lovely place........pitty ...such a dump. Council's idea of regeneration is to put loads of fast food caf'e and hairdressers. Hardly no clothes shops no toy shop's and plenty of tacky pound shops with poor quality item's

Unfortunately SBC are doing their best to ruin it ... hobby councillors are creating blight in every town across the land ... vanity projects and shady deals with developers are destroying communities
