Falken Wildpeaks. 225x75-16. MST +20 offset wheels. 2” HRG lift so plenty of clearance.

Nice looking DIY roof rack. I also like the side ladder. Can hardly wait to see it in person. What's the brand of roof top tent?

Inspired Overland, low profile and light weight. Definitely consider if you’re in the market for an RTT.

did you have to drill any holes under the wheel well?

How do you like this rack for carrying other stuff aside from the tent? Would you have gone this route over the Maker Pipe version given the cost/utility? I was about to pull the trigger on the supplies for the MP version when I came across this, so I would appreciate your thoughts on the pros and cons of each!

I have the tent bolted down and don’t need to remove it since the low profile fits in my garage. It could come off and sure could carry pretty good load, plywood deck, lots of possibilities.

What did you build that side ladder out of? And can you post any photos of how you have it spaced away from the side of the vehicle? Thanks!

Maker Pipe fittings and 3/4 EMT. Pretty simple, used a bending half moon tool and just flattened ends and drilled bolt holes. Under $50 in materials.

In fron of the tent would be the perfect place for a PVC solar hot water shower tank.

Nice Strut set up ... I have been wanting to do something similar... but to enter the tent THROUGH the rear sunroof of the element and do away with climbing a ladder .... Again Thanks for the Video... Looks Great

Yeah thinking about that too. If I did more winter camping would definitely prioritize.

Rooftop tent cons: Everyone knows you are camping, subject to high winds being elevated, wear/tear on body going up & down elevated tent, cost (maybe not in this case), 10-20% decrease in gas mileage due to drag, raises your center of gravity increasing roll over potential, can only camp where you park & maybe a better location away from the vehicle, indicates you have valuables in your vehicle to thieves as these tents cost 1-3K. Rooftop tent pluses: NONE

He likely wouldn't be driving with this erected. This could be popped on once at your site. It's an innovative idea!

Sorry about the very, very late response, I'm very much a YT newbie. Used the setup a couple of times last summer. Just an inflatable mattress and sleeping bag, and worked OK. The biggest benefit I was looking for was access from inside the truck, which again was OK. Definitely not driving with it up there and I didn't use it with under any windy conditions, but that would be an issue.
