I replaced the cam stack gear in my machine because the old one was cracked and hanging up when stitching. Since I have done that my stitches don’t look the best, and they are not back stitching on top of each other as they should. How would I adjust that to make them come out nicer? The stitch length on the “decorative” stitches is also very short for being on the #4 stitch length.

I kist found a beautiful Touch Tronic 2000, has every part & all the little books. Eve. Has the date if purchase , where they got it. Its in a beautiful handmade cabinet, with lots of drawers and cupboards on top. BUT.... it wont put the thread on the bobbin😭. The switch doesnt "click" when i move it over and the bobbin holder doesnt spin when when the shwifch is moved over. Regardless if i use the foot pedal or the hand knob. I was so excited to start sewing again, now im stuck. I know i ckuld buy a bobbin wonder, so i guess im going to try to thread it and se if itll sew. Im afraid theres a bad gear or maybe the bobbin "tire" needs replaced🤔🤷🏼♀️. If ANYONE out there has any advice PLEASE let me know. Im so upset right now😭💔.

G'day mate hope this message finds you well. I've cleaned the rotary hook assembly and now I'm struggling with the timing part for installation have you removed 1 of these and set it back in to position correctly and if so may you explain how please as on second rotation I'm hitting the outer plate with the needle, arrgh what am I missing lol please help me if your able to
@thepaulhowell4 күн бұрын
Since I can’t see what’s going on there, I would say generally: * With the width set at maximum and the needle rising in the left position, as the point of the hook passes the needle, the point of the hook should pass the needle about 1.0mm above the eye of the needle. * With the hook timing set as above, the distance between the hook point and the needle should be 0.25mm to 0.5mm (not touching the needle but very close.

That vertical shaft gear is obsolete so it's easier to 3d print one as the replacement are for the newer models and are oversized so 3d printed and greae wors a treat

Do you have a video about the needle centering dial? I bought a used machine but the dial isn't in the right position. The needle is centered when the dial is all the way to the right. Also the dial is pretty impossible to move.

Youre a Genius, i have been struggling to find anyone who actually explains the use. I actually had to stop sewing two years ago because no one ever talks about this damn part.The singer manual doesnt even bother to tell you how to adjust it.

Excellent video but I have one question how I set the lower position of needle bar so I can set the 2mm shim to adjust the hook😮

Turn the handwheel in the sewing direction until the needle is at its lowest position.

this is a wonderful machine...I have this same machine labeled Chandler on the front & Bernina on the back, but with model 850 in the same place as this one...everything else is the same, even the color, lack of a bobbin winder, and all the same 20 stitch selection...I have mine set into an industrial table with a servo motor to run it.............

I had a 004D some years ago, it was a great little overlocker, beautiful stitches and 'the' nicest, tiny rolled hem I've ever seen. Wish I had kept it but sometime you just need to move things along. After driving several hours to collect it, I then realised the seller hadn't been honest as it was seized due to thread being wound around 'everything'...I was tempted to leave it there and drive off, but quick and slight pressure on the foot pedal, the motor sounded OK, albeit nothing turned due to a multitude of thread jams. Took hours to remove all the thread, cleaned, oiled, set the tensions, threaded etc and was pleasantly surprised as I thought it might be a parts-machine. Kept it for 4-5 years with not a hiccup...a great little overlocker with a small footprint that worked perfectly after some TLC.

By Far the Only one who truly knows the proper way to set this up to wind a bobbin on this machine. So many steps never explained by other channels. ie; The slot in the bobbin, the notch in the bottom of the bobbin tray, the proper travel of the bobbin thread when it winds around the spool, and the correct travel of the thread under the hook, etc. Well Explained!!!! Now I have answers to questions I never got anywhere else. THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!!

I just fixed a gummed up cam follower on the Elnograph component of a 31c. It took several attempts before I sorted out the problem. It’s very easy to break those plastic dials while trying to loosen seized components. I am currently learning everything about the Elna Star series so thank you for this video. We need them to keep vintage machines working!💕
@thepaulhowell2 ай бұрын
Great job! Everyone: remember to always move the stitch width to 0 before changing the pattern. If the cam follower is pushing against the cam, moving it to a different cam can damage or break the cam follower. I’ll be making a complete elna Star service video series in the future.

What a great video. Thank you. Your explanation of the work is vastly more informative than anything else I've seen. I got lucky with my Elna and managed to get the wheel free with some penetrating oil snuck in under the wheel. Didn't have to disassemble. Not so lucky with my green Supermatic which required a disassembly of part of the top mechanism. Not as complicated as the newer Elnas, but still a bit of a job. I managed to lose the spring when reassembling the mechanism. Found one (2 mm diametre) on the auction site for $1.80 for I think 300 mm of spring. Lots of extra spring so I can now lose as many as I like.

Thank you for your detailed explanation without the flowery additional information that's not necessary. I watched several other videos that either didn't provide the right details or talked a bunch of other stuff that wasn't necessary. An example of details that others forgot that made an enormous impact for me was how to thread the lower loop especially with sliding the lower loop threading lever to the left and holding the tension, and making sure the thread lays over the upper loop in the right place. I also appreciate the advice about how to put the thread under the foot. Thank you, I was able to correctly do the tablecloth rolled edge for the first time.
