Seb! This video was amazing! Thank you for sharing the lens in a filmmaking perspective. I definitely don’t see that enough on KZbin and I’m actually making videos about gear from a filmmaking perspective too. Keep up the good work. Cheers 🎉

My rules are DON'T FLY my drone in areas i know aren't recoverable during my preflight planning. I always fly with a GPS tracker velcro'ed to the drone and fly it only where I can recover it by walking to it. The tracker I use Samsung SmartTag2, has a 50 day battery life. If unrecoverable in a tall tree, I can show DJI the GPS log. #1 RULE = always fly in areas where the drone can be retrieved by foot. Always fly with a GOS tracker attached

Just got my mini pro 3 back after several accidents eg battery failure and it fell outof the sky from a mtr high but at speed following one of my dogs which is much of my videos at low level at a wedding i took out a tree at low speed which finished the job. broken camera mount port engine leg floppy and stress cracks in the body. sent it back for repair with minimal info . received and repair in process then several doays wit hno communication after several eails and calls. the drone had flown 18,5 hours in a year mostly low level at dog spped on grass. Then I GET A CALL TO SAY REPAIRS COMPLETE ! Juh st needed to be tested and returned so I was expecting my drone back. Next day the drone arrived 11 am open box and found a new drone in the box. and No Charge ! I have a 2 year refresh policy. down loaded all the new info tothe drone and controller. and test flown. Then a call from DJI and an analysis and update with DJI Wh chatted for about 20 mins I am also a 20 year ppl pilot and glider pilot. with some suggestions for mods to the DJI Pro 4 as I have also flown one and put it up against my mini pro3 and yes the three is better but the 4 needs some upgrades bu I do love the mods to camera on the 4 and software upgrades. And will fly it again I have to say the camera is much better the the transmitter has some nice extra touches. To sum up apart from the guessing game for a few days job done. I did then read about the pairing and changes and I have to say I am still confused which is one of the many points I brought up wit hthe very knowledgeable dji contact who took many notes and asked all the right questions and listened.

So the GM primes have better background separation than the GM telephotos? Is this solely due to the lower f-stop? Is there anything else that makes the primes more cinematic? Thanks
@seborfeo2 ай бұрын
Hey Mark, yes, generally. Prime lenses have better background separation than Zoom lenses because they're faster and optically better built. In this case, the 135 GM is also a telephoto lens. If you compare it with a 70/200 GM II, at 135mm, the prime lens would have better background separation than the 70/200 GM II.

dji instead should have used your video against you. your drone did not "fly away," you admitted to flying the drone in a dense wooded area and a location you knew could not be reached. this does not seem like a smart flying practice. perhaps this is why dji is being such a dick to you about replacing it?
@seborfeo2 ай бұрын
The fly away insurance’s purpose is designed to do just that: replacing the drone when you do something wrong, like il have admitted to do. This is why you would buy such insurance. Now you know. If it’s the drone to fly away because of a firmware or hardware failure, and the logs prove that, DJI would replace the unit even if you have no insurance. The reason they didn’t replace mine is because they’re cheap and they’ll use whatever they can cling on for not refunding the client. In my case they exploited a bug in their software that didn’t correctly bind the drone to the controller.
@awclewis2 ай бұрын
@@seborfeo i understand how the insurance works, and yes... dji replaces drones in cases like yours. your missing my point though. would i like to fly my drone to places its impossible to get to and explore? sure, but is it smart? what i'm saying is as a drone pilot these are not good safetly flying practices. even with the insurance and the drone was bound to my controller as required, personaly i would have just replaced the drone myself chalking it up as a lesson learned. yes, dji are being dicks about something trivial and sticking hard to thier policy. but for flying your drone to a heavily wooded area that you knew was impossible to reach if it went down... i lean to dji's side of this. even with insurance, take responsibility and make better piloting decisions.
@dronemagics73012 ай бұрын
That's exactly the same that happened to me ! My mini 3 Pro went into the sea, I sent DJI the flight record and a screenshot of the map that shows the flight route that leads to the sea. "Find my drone" showed the location for days !!! They didn't care. I used my DJI RC controller with TWO of my drones alternatively: mini3 Pro and a Mavic 3. So every time I switched drones I was supposed to do the binding procedure ??? Anyway, DJI refused to give me a new mini 3 Pro, instead theay offered a 15% discount to buy a new one... duh.... Update: I recently bought a Mavic 3 Pro, and ( was stupid enough ) to buy DJI care again. It WAS NOT bound automatically to the RC again ! I discovered it accidentaly during flying !!! So I almost got scammed again....
@sideseyАй бұрын
That really sucks. I just got a drone and am thinking about getting DJI refresh, but also don’t you have to pay almost half the price for a replacement anyway if it’s a flyaway. That’s what I thought I read. Not sure it’s worth it.

Then the family of 5 switched off the water and electricity on the other family. Not only that but the family of 5 has prevented the other family to move in and out of their house freely.
