I hope you see this and are able to respond. I want to start doing the half payment method but how do I get started. If I only put so half the amount in the account but it’s due early I won’t have enough to cover it. Do I have to save a whole months worth of expenses first before starting to make it work?

This is really good advice. I'm an overspender and already blew my budget. I felt really embarrassed and discouraged so my new goal for now will be eating out less and spending less than the previous month. Great video!

I live in a tiny house that I got a bank loan to have built. The bank treated the tiny house like an RV loan.....so it was a 5 yr note. I've got to have it paid off by Halloween 2026. Yes, I tried to buy a regular house precovid after getting divorced....didnt make enough. Tried self help mutual housing, made too much. Tiny house was all that would work. Since its now 2025, I'm earnestly paying that house note down. I do half marathons about 7 months of the year, and the airbnbs add up. My low spending for 2025, has been cutting back on races that require an overnight, signing up for races as soon as they open or have a discount code to save money....and picking races that are closer to home. No its not just for recreation that i do these races, I have a physical job....doing these races forces me to keep in shape. Yes I could run for free in my town, but whats motivating about that? Running a race gives you a goal to work toward and people to chase. The chase is what drives accomplishment.....so cutting back on race travel was a hard decision, but I did.

Had a very hectic and good 2024. Lots positive things happened in my life, better paying job, paid off a looooot of consumer debt, only a few left to go. On the other side, lots of money spend on divorce(23years marriage with 5 children). Then my car decides to show me flames £4K needed to fix it, l haven’t got this money as l drained my savings during the divorce period, and was trying to build this up…BUT!!! 2025 is to try and pay for the car using credit card then try pay it off ASAP alongside other debt! God help me more so now that l’m a single mum 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Great video. I was in the depressed, frozen state for years, couldn't face the challenge. I needed help so I did Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. It was a journey of changing beliefs about money, dealing with shame, guilty, and feelings of overwhelm.

I think i prefer this method instead only because i tried this no spend last year and it worked for a good month but then i switched to low spending and lost track of it. So now I keep two mini note pads on me. One is for my spendings and one is for my sales or anything ive made money on. I do wood working and sale on the side so its an easy way to track money coming in. Sure i can keep my bank app on my phone but when i write this stuff down it forces me to realize i am buying to much or wasting money on something, I still live at home so this is good practice for when I move out one day.

I'm doing low spend year. My target is to learn to recognise triggers and slow down consumption to a more considered approach. I need to remodel my entire home. Living in it currently makes me miserable. So I'm going to channel my money into that project to find joy and contentment.

Tbh I think most people call it a ‘no spend’ when the reality is that it’s a ‘low spend’.

I personally use a giant change jar and add into it every chance I get change which is often because I spend with cash. I’m not tempted to spend change or carry it around as well so it’s easy for me. It could easily add up to many hundreds in one year if my husband and I add to it regularly. I suppose I could use one for each child if I had more than one and I wouldn’t even notice missing money This is a long term solution though

If I do no spend I pick a category, like I’ve done a year without buying new clothes but I’ve found like you said jumping straight into the lower amounts from the big habit you have is a recipe to fail.

Good morning, Happy New Year, Dyana! I started my morning off at 430am with my Daily Devotional, here on KZbin, and then I came across your low spend video. Let me tell you, thank you! Your way of helping us break our spending down makes so much sense to me. This is just what I needed to start the new year: a new morning, new day! Have a blessed and wonderful day, beautiful. ❤

This will help a lot! I have the YNAB app and the recent upgrades show the average spending. I was shocked by how much I spent on eating out which make sense why I’m struggling with losing weight as well. I was trying to figure out how much should I cut down that is realistic because I value the time I spend with family and friends.

Guilt-free spending is the thing. You need to have money for that in your budget, if you possibly can.
@Ceilingkatwatchesus12 күн бұрын
Yup. I did this for 6 months. I realized that no spend wasn’t for me at the time. I did a low spend and stuck to my budget. Saved enough to fund my emergency fund for 4 months ahead on my fixed & variable expenses. And it’s a great way to ease yourself into no spend if that’s something you want to try. Good luck everyone

This is an intentional spend year! I realized in cleaning out my closet this past week that I have a lot of excess and really I have no justification for it. So I plan before I buy I have to be able to answer what am I getting rid of and what is the purpose of this item. If I can't detail that for myself I'm not going to buy it because I want to go into this year being intentionally. Happy New Year All!

Hi Dyana, I'm using your financial dashboard! However, I'm not great with Google Docs. I was able to switch to January on the "monthly budget" tab, but when I go to the "spending tracker", I still see what I input from December. How can I clear this for January to enter new information?😅
