@@worzelgummidge3617 I was only telling my lad the other day how different the sea fishing around Newport and Cardiff has changed, now it’s non existent cod, the whiting are a fraction of what they were, silver eels are a rarity and flounders are thin on the ground. It’s a shadow of what it used to be, even a couple of decades ago

Thanks for your kind comment. You know, thinking back, Mike and Nige's chat was completely unscripted. They just sat down on the bank and I pressed the record button on the camera and said to them ''off you go'' and they did.

Thanks for your comment. The roof design was as per building regulations and fully compliant with planning approval. It has presented no problems at all, despite some pretty testing weather over the past four years.

Thanks Stu. It probably seems dated now (tackle and technology-wise) but the basics are still relevant. David Attenborough has a documentary on New year's day about the discovery of a pliosaur fossil, right where some of this was filmed. I'd recognise those rocks anywhere 😉

If you dig down on the site of the buildings you will come across a black ash layer. I did an archaeological dig in Wareham and that was the one major find that we found! Also that all the houses are a standard width. It appears that the house width hasn't changed, in Wareham, since Anglo-Saxon times!

Good to see this on KZbin, I have the book on my shelf and have got the video on VHS somewhere.. I was a member of B.A.S.S many years ago and used to enjoy my trips to flat ledge and chapmans, I bet it’s not the same now. I think that I bumped in to Dave Cooling on the ledge one day, many years ago so I could be wrong. Great to see the video again, I think I will get my copy of the book of the shelf now.

When working in Wimborne , there were quite a few who names were Wareham and thought they were all related . But on asking one , they said no , we understand that we were all orphans from the fire of Wareham ? . This brings back some very happy memories .

hello I am French and I would like some information. you with plaster, but why not make the plaster plates with hard tape.
@stevepitts79983 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony. I think the joints between the plaster boards were filled with jointing compound, rather than taped. Elsewhere in our property (35 years old) all the walls are dry-lined (plasterboard on timber stud walls) and these were taped. In numerous places, after only several years, the tape has split and the plaster skim peeled away leaving cracks in the joints . This could be poor materials or workmanship when the house was built. This has been such a problem that we have fixed new plaster boards to the rooms in four of the rooms and the hallway needs doing next. The joints in the new plaster boards have been filled with jointing compound and then sanded flat. No plaster skim on top, just sealed with unibond solution and then three coats of emulsion paint. The finish is way smoother and better than any plaster top coat. Hope this answers your question.

Thanks Lisa - Yes, there is an en suite with 1000mm x 8o0mm (double) shower + wash basin and loo. The small Velux to the rear of the property gives ample natural light and ventilation, but there are also 3 spot lights in the ceiling and an extractor fan. Perhaps I should do a re-edit with the internal work finished.

@xj3584 жыл бұрын
Excellent job but that ridge line of the new dormer looks to be slightly higher than the existing Ridge line as it can clearly be seen from the front view. If so, then it wouldn't qualify for permitted development without planning permission which appears to be what has been carried out. Local council inspectors can certainly be that picky as I learnt with my own rear facing dormer with virtually the same additional height. You literally cannot be even 1mm higher on the dormer roof than the existing ridge line under permitted development.
