I miss those 3 leg return terminals. The last one is on a 1963 Stadeli double at Sandia, decommissioned in 2017. The towers and terminals are still up, but soon to get fully removed. I at least hope that its return terminal can be relocated onto a Riblet or Doppelmayr? Same with towers. It needs new sheaves and grips at its new location if it gets relocated

in my opinion this is not the fault of the lift...people entering the already occupied loading area so not in proper position when the chairlift arrive....

I'm not sure why this old video popped up for me but it sure brings back memories. If I'm not mistaken that is the old Mainstreet lift at Blue Mountain in Pennsylvania. It was removed 2 years ago and replaced with a highspeed detachable 6 person chairlift. That setup was actually two, two person fixed grip lifts, side by side. The other lift was called the Burma Lift. I witnessed quite a few chairlift fails there over the years.

This lift was replaced with a Doppelmayr high speed six pack for the 2022-2023 ski season.

Had that happen at Loveland. Get to the mark, begin to turn around, hear a guy behind me yell "Hol'up, bro", bing, then bang as I try to bail left, front left edge of the seat right to the butt. Right butt cheek was blue and purple and green for 2wks and I have a dent there now.

I haven't skied this mountain but will in a few days. If I may suggest another way to think about this lift: a low stress way for beginners to learn how to ride a chairlift, and nothing more!

Cranmore in North Conway, NH removed their East Bowl Chair back several years ago. It was very similar to this lift. At the time, their management removed it to make an upgrade.… I thought this was a wonderful idea. Now, I sort of regret they removed it. Is there any lifts like this remaining? I want to plan a trip this winter to this lift. These are very historic and would like to ride it before it’s ever removed here, too.

I remember riding the replacement lift at cranmore and filming it back in 2018. That old lift was indeed similar but it was a different brand. Good news for you, Im fairly certain this one is here to stay for another good while, as they seem to be quite intent on fixing this one rather then letting it go for the time being; other than a reliability standpoint, there is no need to upgrade this lift. There are still some old classics scattered around the east coast but they’re a dying breed for sure. A few that come to mind in my area (Western NY) are World chair at kissing bridge, the double chair at song mountain, the few 60’s pomas down at Hunter mountain, and of course some Vermont oldies I’ve ridden such as Mad river glen’s birdland chair and single chair, Magic’s and pico’s old double chairs, Ego alley at mt snow…

Only Duncan, before my Gopro shut off due to cold. I also skied the day before these were filmed, as well. For some reason, they had Duncan running at a reduced speed. Not sure if there was any reason. Lowell Thomas was also running slower since it was running on diesel. The next day everything was running normally

Could it be because the wheels on literally every pole/tower are so squeaky they sound like the metal is corroding? If you think that rhythm of squeaks that’ll stick in your head is toxic, just try coming to Tyrol Basin in Wisconsin; it’s worse over there!

That was a very slow E-Stop Detection by the lift. It took about 5 seconds to fully register the stop.

And also, Swain needs to regrease all the lift wheels so that they don't squeak anymore or make noise.

This lift was rather swanky, slow, and quiet. It seemed old style and much of man made to serve a small new York hill.
