@ My bar gets plenty of oil. It’s just old and probably had the oil holes plugged a couple times when I was using it heavily. I widen all the oil holes on my bars. I also run it full throttle a few times before I start cutting to make sure the bar has oil. For how old the bar is and how much I’ve used it, the condition is surprisingly good. I switched to D&G bar and chain oil about 6 months ago and it’s made a huge difference on the life of my bars. My 32” Stihl bar has very little noticeable use on it and I’ve used that bar to cut timber out on the coast. The bar I’m using in this video was the second chainsaw bar I ever bought.

@illnaturedsaws2 ай бұрын
@@elliotboyer1041 ok for sure. Yeah grease won’t work cause the gap is actually fairly large. An O ring could possibly work but finding one that’s the right size and thickness will be interesting. Thanks for the feedback!

@ take the filter to an ace hardware. They have all sorts of misc orings. Or maybe try a factory echo 2511t filter. That’s what that saw is. Just a copied version of a pro saw.
@elliotboyer10412 ай бұрын
@@illnaturedsawssorry, after checking your page you obviously know it’s a clone saw. I had just seen the short here and didn’t know what type of videos you did until after looking. Like my second comment the best bet is probably put a 2511 filter on it and see if that gap goes away. That would eliminate knowing if it’s the filter that’s off or if it’s the housing for the filter. If a 2511 filter still has a gap then it’s most likely the intake end of the carb being out of wack.
@elliotboyer10412 ай бұрын
Also the 1/4 pitch conversion turns the 2511 into a little power house, worlds of difference especially in hard wood. I did the WCS machined muffler too. Entirely different saw with just those two modifications.

@illnaturedsaws3 ай бұрын
@@Zayne_24 honestly man I wouldn’t recommend buying the ad tecs just cause they’re hard on your feet. But if you do they do hold up decently and with some insoles are 100% useable. You didnt make the diameter of the hole any bigger. Only the funnel up to the hole. Common sense tells me the same amount of oil is going into the hole therefore same amount going around bar. You wint get more oil to bar without a larger diameter hole. The hole only allows for its capacity no matter how big the funnel is 🤔 Thats cute though.
@illnaturedsaws4 ай бұрын
@@camden7488 I did widen the inner diameter as well but either way the opened up slot acts as a shelf for the oil to sit and as the bar spins it pulls oil from that oil hole. So even having just widened it will make more oil available to go to your bar because it has more oil immediately available to pull from. Not cute just backyard science.

If it's getting enough oil, and then running dry when you start cutting, that is a different problem. You don't magically start getting less oil as you start cutting. 30 years of ranching and a dozen different Stihl saws, and I've never had an issue.

@@littlejackalo5326 the problem I was faced with that led me to this was my Stihl 400c comes stock with a very weak oiler.
