So inspiring love everything you said. Here’s a quote that I love that relates … “We don’t create a fantasy world to escape reality ;We create it to be able to stay “ Lynda Barry.

I would say that you paint more in an intuitive way with a rollercoaster technique. Your inside is basically directing your moves because you are so free when you are striking the canvas to bring forth your image. I agree you are definitely not a step by step painting.

I tend to gravitate to abstract art. I can do realistic pieces, but l don't prefer doing them. I think, for me, it is because I am a perfectionist and I can't stop until the piece is "correct." I don't have that with abstract work.
@RLDSTUDIO7 ай бұрын
I think this is a great insight. I think it applied to me as well at the time of this video and I didn’t fully realize it. I’ve started challenging myself to do some realistic and surrealistic subject matter and have been really enjoying it. If you are interested I’ve made a bunch of painting videos on realistic subject matter since. Ones that come to mind are a cowboy trinket, several shark teeth paintings, golden scarabs, pearls and butterflies and there are a lot more. I find the more I paint the less concerned I am with perfection. It’s a great relief and now I’m open to playing and exploring with both styles. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for being open and sharing the details of your process. Your work is very good. I think you could take the size up even more. This is an awesome piece that deserves to have a place of honor in a living space and for that it may need to be larger. Thanks again!

Thanks! You know I think that’s a pretty good idea. I bet it will be an interesting challenge to go even larger. Hmmmm. You got me thinking.
@KarinaStaalArt7 ай бұрын
I think you make beautiful art and maybe you do underestimate yourself by saying that others find it cheap and terrible. That is their judgment and says nothing about your work. NEVER sell your work for less because of someone else's opinion. So STOP telling yourself AND others (in publike) that you don't do it for the money or whatever.

Hello Randy i have watched some more of your videos and I can not believe how it seems that you are speaking for me. My journey feels so similar it's eerie. I wonder if you have found success in selling your work that is where i am struggling and am some how losing my motivation for painting because I don't have a good outlet to sell my stuff. Really enjoy your narration and describing the process. I live in Florida have always wanted to paint and collaborate with someone who seems to think as i do on occasion do you have any interest thx.
@RLDSTUDIO7 ай бұрын
Hey there. First off thanks for watching and sharing. Really appreciate that. I'm super glad my content is resonating with you. It really means a lot and inspires me to make more videos. I have had some success in the last 3 years or so selling work, but it is in no way enough to do full-time. I was in a gallery for a little over a year, but they had to shut down due to lack of sales during covid. Now I show and sell my work in a very large local eclectic antique market. I've had some success selling stuff via instagram as well. Not selling or not having good outlets to sell can be disheartening, but I honestly never really was concerned about selling from the beginning. I do sell and try to sell stuff now, but my main focus is still on just creating and the process in general. It helps me to just keep getting better and I trust the money will come. DM me on instagram and let me know what you have in mind for collabs. I usually don't do them these days, just because I have so many projects going on... but I'm always interested in connecting with other artists... so let's talk :)
