With this product there is an additional and MAJOR consideration to make when purchasing the CYCLONE. Understand that the CYCLONE will filter OUT dirt very nicely but it will also filter out mostly ALL slow dissolving pool products and of course any diatomaceous earth (DE) you put in the pool skimmer for the DE filter system grids. But any seasoned pool owner/maintainer knows adding DE and/or pool water maintenance products through the skimmer is common throughout the year and unless you can "bypass" or remove the CYCLONE the result will end up in the bottom of the CYCLONE. (which looks like the situation in this video) I have and love the CYCLONE but with a DE pool it was obvious for the sake of ease and to reduce wear and tear on couplings I purchased and installed the CYCLONE "bypass" and am glad I did. I simply turn the bypass valve, add my pool products as directed through the skimmer wait a few minutes and then return the bypass valve to the "filter" position. I bought my kit from DISCOUNT SALT POOLS for $84.99. (I don't work for or know who Discount Salt pools are I just liked the price) I am on month 6 after cleaning and install and my bypass and my DE pressure gauge has increased ONLY 5 PSI. I would have cleaned it at least three times by now this year.

Where's the inner lid and hold-down bar??? The inner lid is an integral part of the proper operation.

Aren't you worried about the bar the flap rotates on binding when you apply the epoxy next to it? Your video is the only one I've seen recommending the epoxy be apllied there.

Try putting your system in service mode and drain your cyclone... you may need to open your drain line off your filter to relieve pressure. With your drained cyclone start your pool pump on high speed with the cyclone open and watch the dirt gush out.

Its fine to replace a standard with a Venturi when the break but at $70 a pop for the heads its not worth the upfront investment just for electricity savings.

Wow.... trash... you’re lazy as fuck.. I have an idea. let’s replace things which are not broken cuz you don’t know shit about infloor systems.. that looks like absolute shit too. did one thing for... sure did use a shit ton of unnecessary martial. You need to get good at chip and peeling pvc and stop removal of parts which are still fully operational.

Interestingly, my Desk-clor does not have a standpipe. just a central hole. On the side of the pool, there are two holes, one just seems to go from the pool to the deck-clor chamber, the other has water flowing out of it when deck-clor is turned on. I wonder if it uses Venturi effect to suck water out of the Dek-clor compartment? Pool was built in the early 90's.

an OK video, does not help if you dont tell us the difference between the 2 heads, you might save some money by running at lower speed but you might also need to run it longer cause the heads dont clean as much as the previous ones, so tell us.. what the difference?

I need to install something like this to an existing and full pool. Can I do it without dropping the pool level? Understanding it’ll be a little messy but is there a quick way of getting g a hole and pipe into side of pool.
