First of all, the style and delivery of your video, graphics, and speech are great! I hate having to decide if the information is worth listening to while watching crappy production. Second, and just as important to me, the information is ideal: the good, the bad, and the ugly. i don't know if that's just your style or if you had a mentor teach you that, but it's great. And in my case, it is exactly what I have been watching J.I.T. videos to find out. We deal with 21,000 orders a year, covering about 1000 different products. Some changeovers are really short and simple, and some are very complex and long. I want to convince my managers that we need to sacrifice a little finished inventory waste to reduce a lot of changeover waste. Thanks a million! Well, that might be over-production...

I think the more debt a company incurs the less focus becomes on integrity(core business values). At the end of the day its still a business.Core values should be discussed and understood and sometimes a reset needs to happen. Every day wasted, is a day that we could of incurred less debt prevented a sloppy/rushed execution.

The “cut a purchase order for everything” model is extremely inefficient. This is when companies can get in big trouble when they don’t understand the type of business that they are forcing this upon. If the office makes all of the workers cut a purchase order every time they go to Home Depot, or get gas, or guess how long do you need a rental, all of these things could be job costed, and or coded to overhead or the job number, by simply turning in the receipt to AP. Cutting purchase orders for materials and inventory is completely acceptable and encouraged. Next time the office goes and buys coffee and forks for the break room, and toilet paper for the bathroom, they better ask for a purchase order.

push works when you cannot maintain an effective communication channel to the front all the time or at all. you have to remember there is also a high cost to maintain an effective communication channel. its not more efficient, its just suitable in different situation. imagine there is a nuclear war or you enemy can jam you coms better then you can transmit, in pull logistic, the only way to get supplies is to physically send someone to the "vendor"(of the left of chart) to ask for it in person. also when you need to obtain product in short notice or with no notice, pull logistic you need to wait for the request to be filed and processed, then it will get made. there is a better chance of getting ugrent equipment if they are in push logistic because the product is costantly on its way anyways. regardless of you asking for it or not.
