Just about to buy this anything i should know? Any tips?

I just bought one too. It's supposed to be here Wednesday. From what I gather, you're going to want to upgrade your straps to something that doesn't stretch and upgrade the ridgeline. I wouldn't trust the plastic adjustment clip to hold any real tension on it. I plan to secure it directly to the bunched ends when I replace the rope with continuous loops. Also, watch the distance between attachment points. The closer the trees, the better the hang. I know it's short, but I'm looking for something I can hang easily from my 10' hammock hitch on my truck. I already have a 8.5 footer that works fine. My 10.5' and 11' hammocks are a little long for the hitch, so I hope this works well.

@@RoughWalkers Okay, I got mine today and set it up. Immediately I didn't care for the suspension or ridgeline. I replaced the suspension with a set of Onewind cinch straps I had in my cordage box. Huge improvement in dialing it in. I have a set of Superior suspension straps on order for my Haven. I will try them on this hammock when I get them. I removed the adjustment clip on the ridgeline and tied it off. I just don't trust that lineloc with tension. I will replace it with a whoopie sling. I also took one of the original straps and ran it inside as a ridgeline as well. I can grab the loops and pull myself up by the ridgeline now. I was a little concerned about the length of this hammock, but found that I can lay pretty comfortable on a diagonal. I am impressed. I wish the bug net would at least zip all the way around so it can be rolled up and stowed away. The mesh is pretty tight so there's not much airflow. I am also somewhat bothered by the open gap in each end of the hammock before the bunched end. I have it tied off for now with my new ridgeline strap. Overall, I'm pleased with this little setup.

I like mine. It does well in stong winds and heavy rain. The vestibule is large and great for cooking in. My only issue is condensation is bad, mainly in damp conditions. Plenty of airflow on hit nights though.

I live local have done parts of the way numerous times , sadly parts are un-maintained and getting a bit rough ... did the whole route and back home in one shot last year .. turned out as 68miles long hard day but loved it and will do it again .👍🏻

Hey mate, superb insight into this trail. It's on my list of trails to complete in 2021 (if we're ever un-grounded by the boss). I swear by the TrailShot but is the river really that bad?? Is there any tips or good things to look out for along the way? I really liked the insight of the old wood parts of the train station. I hope you enjoyed the journey mate, that's what it's all about. - Bryan -

How are you liking the Genesis Longitude? That bike has been on my shortlist for a while now and I've been thinking of buying it now perhaps before Brexit hits and all the imports from Britain to continental Europe will face new duties.

You've just shown me my next bike set up. Ive been looking at the longtitude with the geoff bars. Ha. Be interested to hear how you got on with the bike, and what you thought of the bars. They seem a sensibly priced alternative to the much fabled Jones h bar.

Nice one. Looks like my kind of thing. t'internet info.on the trail is a bit sketchy. How did you get to the start?
@Micraventure5 жыл бұрын
Peter McInnes, so getting to the start is a bit of an issue. There’s no really train link (Lanark might be the closest but don’t quote me) I managed to get a lift to the start. This website is prob the best www.scotlandsgreattrails.com/trail/river-ayr-way/ the other option around that area is the Ayrshire Costal Path which is much easier to access
