Do you sub tofu for meat or is it a snack by itself or both? I’m looking for more recipes with tofu for the protein so anything really. I haven’t tried it before though so any recommendations? 😅

You can use it in place of meat in recipes no problem. It's best to view it as it's own thing rather than a replacement. Kind of like how you wouldn't think of beef as a replacement for chicken, but rather another option that's better for some things than others. If you have any local restaurants that serve it, I recommend trying it made well first to see if you like it. It's very mild itself, so it's kind of like chicken in that for a lot of people it's more of a compliment to a dish or vehicle for whatever sauces you want to use. I enjoy the base flavor and can eat it on its own, but a lot of people only like it in dishes or with a dipping sauce. It is really good at absorbing sauces, especially when cooking, so if you have any sauces you really like it's pretty easy to get more tofu in. Air frying is a really easy way to make it. Pan frying takes longer but can be great for really getting it to absorb some flavors. And if you're really not feeling good or have almost no time you can even microwave it, though it won't get crispy that way. However you cook it, just make sure to press it first to get the liquid out so it cooks right. You can buy a tofu press once you know you'll be eating it a lot, but before then there are a lot of diy methods. I remember in college I'd wrap it in a clean dish towel and put a clean board on top weighed down by books and that worked okay. Also, make sure you get a variety of firm tofu for regular cooking. Silken is very different, and will fall apart if you try and use it like a meat. If you want to know about how to make desserts that pack protein though, look up using silken tofu for sure.
