Yep, they taught Abiogenesis as fact, and didn't mention evolution once during the human reproduction segment. They mixed unproven Abiogenesis with real science about reproduction. In 1983 I was too young to differentiate the two.

I screamed while watching this in biology. I’m scarred for life

I was 5 when this aired for the 1st time in 1983... by the time I was 10 or 11 in 88/89 this was my intro to sex ed... in the 20teens it was my eldest child's, then a few years later my second child's. Tomorrow it will be my 3rd child's. To this day outside of a few medical updates this is still hands down the most scientific and informative video of genetics, sexual maturity, and human reproduction in existence.

Even if this film’s story does contradict the literary record, it fits well enough with the movies: characterizations and conception fit more than well enough with Basil Rathbone’s films, and we may as well, therefore, consider it a prequel to THOSE.

Also, I've seen plenty of animals giving birth so this didn't affect me at all, but if I had to see this at the age that a majority of people did I would definitely have been grossed out XD
