Whats up with the celibacy trope? Incels for Christ is seem a bit much, because Jesus never demand celabacy or chasity from his apostles, disciplesor his followers. I think these orders were using celebacy and chastity as form of control of their initiates.

Minor correction at the Mamluk's section. Syria and the Levant are basically the same thing. One can argue that the Levant includes Lebanon as well, but Lebanon didn't exactly exist back then. It sas part of the greater region that was called Syria. It's prob just redundancy from the source though :)

The knights templar were not a rich group until way after the war , the kings owed them much money for their part of the crusades but decided not to pay the agreed amounts, the knights templar had to out of neccesisty become what we call mercinaries today, they eventually ended up hiring themselves out as protection for the wealthy, this is where they gained there wealth, so phucking wonderful watching general information on you tube that has no phucking idea.

Landsknechte are not spoken with ä , but a, similar to lance. Land can mean either land or country, depending on context. The shown weapon is no pike/ Pike, but a boarspear/ Saufeder. Katzbalger , spoken about Cats ( more a than ä)- ball - ger , not Katzbaldscher. Plural of der Zweihänder is die Zweihändler.

Super cool video. I come from Italy and we had our fair share of great commanders here too. Most famous is probably John Hawkwood (yes he was english but he fought for a long time in Italy and has been immortalised in a famous painting in Florence), but also Giovanni dalle Bande Nere and Guido da Montefeltro. Maybe you could feature them in a second part of this video

Good info! Also it's always good to remember that good gladiators were popular and beloved and received good care from their masters. Much people died on the arenas but gladiators rarely fought to the end, it was mostly a great show with some blood on it.

Many factual errors and substitution of concepts. Again proved, how games, movies, media are misleading public speech. Better call it "Legendary Game MIlitary Units" not "HISTORICAL" plz, oh and dont forget to add "western media version". Cheers

We always think about the orders outside of Iberia, but don't forget the Iberian ones, we had a lot because we were fighting our own crusade against Islam.

Gorilla warfare was extremely effective, because although gorillas did not wear armor and had poor grasp of military tactics, they compensated with brutal strength and ferocity, often single-handedly turning the tide of battle. Their impact was even greater when the battle took part in the mist...
