I got lucky enough to get 3 different spam cans of it over the last 5 years. Fairly reasonable, but not exactly cheap. I bought an AR15 chambered in 5.45 and it came with a spam can of 7n6 and 9 5.45 AR mags (very hard to find these days) for 900 bucks. I've always been a big 5.45 fan. I prefer it to 5.56, and it's always been a great cartridge for me in all the platforms I use it in like the Galil Ace Gen2 and Saiga. Sad it's not as cheap and available as it was, but I still find it.

that seems like a great deal, I've never heard of an AR15 chambered in 5.45, that's very interesting and cool, what's the manufacturer? 5.45 is relatively scarce in the US, I never saw it in any of my local shops when I used to live stateside.

@@curiositytrails1137 Mine is a Huldra Mark IV piston driven. Smith and Wesson made one too, but direct impingement. Fleet Farm used to market the Huldra along with cheap 5.45 7n6 among other offerings. It was a really great deal though. I don't have a lot of problems finding it but I also buy 1,000s of rounds anytime I do. That Fleetfarm I was talking about was selling Red Army Standard 5.45 69gr for $4 a box about 7 years ago. So my friend and I went to every Fleetfarm within 200 miles and bought every single box they had. They were sending us to their warehouses to get it. My friend and I spent around $4k a piece.

8:17 - GOST (ГОСТ) is just acronym of "GOsudarstvenniy STandart" (ГОсударственный СТрандарт, State Standart), which could be translated as *GO*vernmental *ST*andart, for mnemonic reasons. It's a system akin to ISO, and yes, it is pronounced as a single word - gost.

I love this caliber! What makes 7N6 so unpredictable on impact is that it's an inverted pendulum. Instead of the force vector being down, it's forward. And the second that nose slows more than the butt it tries to become a more stabke system. That means the hwavier end towards the vector. Add 10k+ rpm to the pendulum and it lookes like a chaotic motion segements pendulum.

I have found 4 M-4 Bisons on static display in Russia using Google Earth Pro. I have also found an experimental version that was around until 2017, when it suddenly disappeared from the imagery. The most obvious one is at the Central Air Force Museum in Monino. Most sources say this museum is SE of Moscow, but it is acutally 23 miles ENE. The Dyagilevo Air Base in Ryazan is home to the Museum of Long Rang Aviation and has the second Bison. Engels Air Base, the home of the History Museum of Long Rang Aviation has the 3rd Bison. The fourth Bison is located at an active Bear Bomber Base in far eastern Russia called Ukrainka. It is currently in a modest static display next to the support buildings to the west of the runway. Before 2021, it was located with just a couple of other aircraft on display between the taxiway and the runway. In fact, on an image taken on 9/19/21, the Bison can be seen being towed down the taxiway on its way toward the new display area. The experimental Bison can only be seen on any of the images taken before August 2017 at Ramenskoye Airport SE of Moscow, home of the Gromov Flight Research Institute. The experimental Bison has a possible AWACs antenna mounted on it, along with a twin vertical stabilizer on the tail. In all of these pre- and post-2017 images, an M-17/M-55 can be spotted. In the pre-2017 photos, it is usually parked fairly near to the Bison. I've made a screen shot of the pair from Google Earth that I wish I could post.

@curiositytrails1137 Ай бұрын
In my experience, whole units (brigades, companies, squadrons, etc) are either outfitted for nato weapon systems or "eastern" weapon systems, so there isn't much of a choice of preference depending on your unit, In terms of 5.56×45, I have only seen small amounts of M855A1, it's mostly M193 or sometimes M855, but the soldiers who are issued nato weapon systems generally like them and prefer them over the older "eastern" systems such as the AK-74 which is still widely used.

@@curiositytrails1137 I would’ve thought M855A1 would be the standard. Thats because lot of KZbinrs claim u need a 20inch barrel for both(M855,M193) & 1/12 twist for the M193.

Here in Brazil we had the Zhiguly as Laika and the SW version was Laika Station. We had Samara and Niva too. They're infame because of their tendency to rust and overheat, among other minor issues. Brazil would resume Niva's importing eventually, then Vova just screwed it up in 2021.

There is a small rocket outside, and inside there are various mockups of satalites, rovers, and the Venus lander. Aswell as many other small artifacts, the soyuz 27 module is the original, as well as another small capsule that was used as a meteorological test bed. They also have the first Ukrainian flag that traveled into space and the ISS.

7n6m and 7n10 (pp) use the same hardened steel for their core, which using vickers hardness, is more than double the hardness of the 7n6(or ps 762x39), and significantly harder than even the m855a1 steel penetrator, nevermind the m855 penetrator. 7n10 (pp) is officially the standard round of the russian military, but considering the below official standards of, every piece of equipment they actually fielded in the invasion, such as the '5a' plates you shot, its more likely that theyre fielded with the plentiful 7n6s, which fail to pass through nij iii/sapi plates.

I believe that the only American domestic produced 5.45×39MM is Hornady black. But, that American made ammunition goes for between $1-$3 a round! I don't understand why Hornady charges so much for an ammunition that probably doesn't cost more in production costs than .223 Remington. I really hope other ammunition manufacturers start to chip in with some competition so the prices balance out. Especially since PSA is making some really solid 5.45×39MM chambered AK-74 variants, there is definitely a market for this ammunition that's fairly substantial. TulAmmo 5.45×39MM is going for about $0.72¢ at the time of me writing this, and 7n6 is going for about $0.80¢ - $0.90¢ a round.
