I have a 2019 and you cannot do it this way due to cannister 2" to the right. Looking for a unique screwdriver, which is probably the Honda tool. Cannister removal, I believe to be the emissions charcoal container and hose assemblies, is next on my list of tweaks as soon as I identify a complete de-smog kit.

If that 8mm bolt felt out on a ride what would it do? And would you need to check the tension aka taking the top cover off?
@hunterwallway5028 Жыл бұрын
I’d probably take the head off if that fell out just in case some dirt got in there but as long as it wasn’t super dirty around the bolt that fell out then I think you should be good

@ehsanfarkhondeh7 жыл бұрын
I can't confirm but Honda generally uses similar designs for stuff across its products.
@ojenpoko67238 жыл бұрын
sorry..why we need to release it?is it can solve the engine noise problem?
@dreze18 жыл бұрын
If you are working on the cylinder head, adjusting valves, etc you need to remove the tension from the cam chain to allow the work to happen. Otherwise the chain is too tight to remove.
@ceroehr1008 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. My Cam chain tensioner is leaking oil. Can I simply take out the cam chain tensioner and replace it with a new one to stop the leak or will taking it out cause issues with the piston?
@dreze18 жыл бұрын
Yes. you can take it out. I recommend setting the motor to TDC to make sure you don't get any rotation of the motor and possibly affect the timing when the tensioner is pulled out. there is a plug on generator side of the motor that lets you see the flywheel and find the TDC mark.

HUGE help! It worked on my '12 Kawi 450. I tried installing it without releasing it, and the chain was as tight as a guitar string. This simple video is a great way to keep from destroying your machine. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for that uick tip. Just what I was looking for. Never taken a CCT out before, but am going to do so on my XJ900f as I hope it's the CCT that has seized, and not the Cam chain itself which needs replacing. Fingers crossed. Thanks again.

What were you yelling around the 1:35 mark? Do you still race?
@ehsanfarkhondeh9 жыл бұрын
I yell at myself sometimes to motivate myself. It's usually something about how slow I am and why I'm not going faster. Yeah, I still race. in B-Vet now. Season opener at PC is 3 weeks away. Do you race?
@NorCalSumos9 жыл бұрын
I raced for the first time last year with OTHG...thinking about doing some D36 this year...I'm 35 so not sure what class that would be.
@dreze19 жыл бұрын
***** You would race in C Vet Plus. 35-39 year olds. Get your AMA and D-36 memberships and then just show up. Get there early before your race and tell the signup people you are new and they will gladly help you through it.

@dreze111 жыл бұрын
Do you race cross-country on dirtbikes? Obviously not if you don't know why I'm yelling. Yelling is to tell the rider ahead that you have caught them. They usually let you by. Other times I'm yelling left or right to tell them which way I'm coming through. I ended up finishing second so all the yelling worked.
