Thank you for your video and sharing your experiences. Does the taper rubber fitting attach securely to the dump site? I fear that the end that attaches to the sewer system may pop out especially if there is any back pressure in thee dump site. Thank you. Bret C

Never use silicone on an rv! Nothing sticks to it, not even silicone. It isnt uv resistant, it will peel at the edges, its very hard to remove. Use an rv specific product like Geocel Pro Flex or a dicor product.

IKEA has thin butcher block counters you can buy instead of the thick butcher block at Home Depot for anyone watching as an alternative for a lighter travel trailer concerned with weight. I love everything you both did.

My advice would be keep the roof maintenance up. This material ruins easily with water. Even high humidity over time will cause it to sag. As long as it's kept dry though, it should look nice for a good while. Also, for cutting holes, you can use a multi tool and a shop vac next to the blade to greatly minimize the mess. They're easier to use than a jig saw in many scenarios, & typically safer... but noisy little buggers. Looking good guys! Thanks for sharing. 😊

Thank you for a nice, short, problem solving video! I would suggest putting some eternabond tape over the metal sheet plate for extra protection. I’m totally going to do the same procedure on mine and use the metal sheet, seal it, and tape it up. Thanks for the video! Ps you have a great voice!

Good video. Another way to fix that hole is to buy a fiberglass patch kit. Basically you would do some light grinding around the holes to make the matt stick. Then lay the patch over the holes and apply some mixed epoxy resin and catalyst onto the patch. Finally work the resin into the material with a roller until it is fully saturated, and then let it dry. You will never have to worry about a leak and it will be super strong. Easy peasy!

@SKINLA682 No more complicated than patching a bicycle tire. Basically rough up the hole, mix some resin, and then work it into a fiberglass patch over the hole. The rest is simply sanding the patch to make it level and painting if need be.

Interesting! I just found your channel and see you haven't done any more post in over a year. I've been remodeling my 37' 0:11 1989 Fleetwood Class A for years and have considered going butcher block instead of the corn. Look like you 2 have already done a lot of the remodel stuff I've been thinking of doing to mine. So looks like I have some videos to catch up on. I like the way you explain your steps BTY.

How did you find the supports in the walls and ceiling of the cab? Are the interior wall panels removable? I'm confident that I could do the rest of this if/when we buy a class A. Its just finding thise solid supports that seems to be trick..

I took mine off and used a plastic cutting board. I drilled at equal space around the 12x12 template and screwed it to the roof. I layed downa hefty bead of roofing caulk, big box store don'tcarry anything for rv. Work well so far. Flex seal doesn't stand up to sunlight.
