That was pretty helpful...hearing and watching when to move the hip and ask for the change, but how do you make sure your horse lets you move the hip over first, and then change leads, without getting too wiggly, hot, touchy-sided, anticipating the change? Because we don't want them swapping leads every time we take a hold and put a leg on to move the hip right? We want to move the hip and THEN change right? Like a split second of the horse just WAIT after we get them set up for it, right? Or am I wrong? What is your actual cue to change leads? Is it the new outside leg? or is it the change in your seat and opening up the new inside leg?

I was one of the fortunate people who got to spend time with Bill when he was still riding Doc’s Otoetta. This mare was POISON. Bill is one of the greatest of all time. His history of an educator is his greatest asset.

Hava's laughs of joy while she rode the dressage horse really made me smile. Im a dressage rider working in the reining horse world, and I love seeing the two come together.

Where are you located at? I'd love to ride and get instruction from you. I just need to tune up a young horse (sometimes I may have more) and try to get some rate on her. I can't think of anything better than working on the fence. Tired of the arrogant pro's out there! Get ahold of me if you don't mind.

The horse has to read the stop not just the rider. It's both.

Why you kick the horse to start him? It stuns & hurts them. :(

I met Ann at Gunnys one day and she told me about the new channel. Im so excited to watch!! I am a non-pro, training my first ever show horse and its been a ride for sure! Lots of hard times and tears, but I'm on my way to APHA World show (ranch horse versatility) very soon!! So sharing the struggles of training and showing is definitely going to help!!
