Belle interprétation. J’adore cette musique. On ne l’entend pas assez souvent.

This is my new go-to performance of this beautiful score! As a non-musician, I thoroughly enjoy watching the orchestra play. It's a great reminder of just how hard they work! The now very famous Maestro conducts spectacularly, and all of the tempi are to my taste (except for The Waltz of the Flowers--with I prefer to be played not so regimented). Bravo!

Rachmaninoff was a pianist. He was a wonderful pianist and a nice friend. He was my best friend. First of all he was composer, pianist and conductor. Three things at once. And first class all three. I think so. Still his concerti he played is 🪽… 26:18

It would sound much better if the mic were farther away, and his tone would be better if he closed his fingers after playing each note, then he would be more relaxed, and the wood would resonate better, and it won't sound so stringy. It would also be cleaner playing. If the harp is very new, then it is not "broken in" yet.

Cet ensemble, nous donnerait presque l'impression qu'il y a un cor et un tuba dans le quartet tant les couleurs et les timbres sont variés et s'accordent à merveille . Bravo

Didn't they play the very end of this song at the end of "The man who knew too much?" by Hitchcock? But 13:24 - 14:15 is the prettiest part. And that part reminds me of this classical music commercial they used to play in Los Angeles in the early 70s, lol.

The last song is a miracle. Bostridge is great, but the pianist is astounding. She sounds like a cathedral of the most beautiful notes which combine so harmoniously with the singer. Rare!

I'm listening to this masterpiece with my earphones on, and it's 7 pm in a café I'm at right now. I had another day of misery today. I don't know when it will end, and I can't say I tried my best. I hope time just stands still as I'm feeling something like I've forgotten life, even though I still look so empty on the mirror at front. The magnificence of music and performance seems to be the best temporary relief. It shuts down the world.

Well, that was disappointing. Beautiful, expressive music, but hardly a symphony, it's just one movement. Where's the rest of it? Shostakovich would have added a galloping allegro and a blistering final movement at the least. And did.
