i have spent hours trying to figure out how to do mitered corners on my table runner. You are the only person who explained it in a way i could understand. THANK YOU for ending my frustration! Great technique!!

You do a great job of teaching. I am just returning to embroidery and want to subscribe. Fantastic. I'm doing my first embroidery project. I'm going to go see if yoiu also have some tutorials on transposing the design onto cloth. I plan on decorating jeans jackets eventually. I wonder if you use all 6 strings in the embroidery thread, or do you divide them in half?

So ironing the oil paint on the fabric sets it and you can wash it and it won't come off/out? I had not idea!

I just bought bought an emroidery project to do. I haven't embroidered in years. I mostly cross stitch and sew small projects. As I was watching this, I remembered my 7th grade Home Ec teacher showing us how to anchor our thread. Wow, that was 40 years ago.

Hi Natalie Your tutorials are really easy to understand and helpful Could you please do one with shaded long and short stitch. I’m doing a table runner and it has 4 flowers in each corner which needs to be done With the above stitch. Do the stitches on each flower need to be the same length Say I’m starting with red then shade with pink Do I need to go round each flower with a template so the red comes equal on each flower?

Love the close ups and also love the way you insert the needle, remove it and reinsert the needle again so one can see exactly where to insert the needle. Excellent explanation and the thicker thread makes it easier to see. Thank you for sharing UK🇬🇧

Why do you prefer to use the pearl cotton? Is it cause you make bigger pieces? I’m new and everyone I’ve watched uses floss.
@natalierichards3 жыл бұрын
Yes the areas that I fill are bigger. When you use floss you should really be using a layering tool. floss is generally used for Crosstitch and needlepoint not necessarily surface embroidery although you can use floss to do anything. I like pure cotton because it has a nice sheen and a twist to it and it just gives texture in volume to embroidery.

Me, being a brand new cross stitcher, found that I didn't like seeing the fabric peeking thru so I over filled my stitches, adding extra stitches to each stitch. Little did I know , I could have been doing this. Thank you

omg! Stab vs your way. There is such a huge difference how the stitches lay! Yours is much cleaner and neater. I am perpetually frustrated at YT videos from others who do that stab stitch for the satin stitch and make it look so neat. Yours is so efficient and clean. Thank you!!!!

So glad it helped you, may take awhile to get the rhythm of “sewing” verses stab stitching but I’m glad you are able to see a difference.
