Are you happy with this tool? Is it difficult to cut 0.6mm steel?

No need to solder just use a nail gun

seriously.. your solder needs a new copperhead, that thing is way overdue! You only overlapped the soldering 1/4 ... You need to solder 3/4 onto the material you want to solder together, reason is you need the tin to melt in between the elements. And yes thats a way to do it with the anglegrinder, but there is other more convenient methods. Contact VMZinc or Rheinzinc for ways of doing it right when you work with pre patinated zinc... Thats a redo buddy! ;)

This is literally a butcher at work. I would use this video as a representation to my apprentices as how not to solder !! Even as a quick put together there’s not even the basic capillary or even the decency to tin the iron.

I wonder why you drilled the hole?

There's a chance that the metal might crack when only cutting with shears. The hole prevents it cracking. You can also use a nibbler that removes a strip of metal.

@@FarmandSMC I appreciate your kind explanation. You meant it's a cold day at that time so the zinc panel could crack more than in warm weather, didn't you? It looks to be a cold day at that time at a glance.
