what if i do a texture turn and the defender does a slide tackle on the ball with full ball contact, it won't be a foul because he hit the ball first and I will just lose possession

thats why you have to deliberately work in practice on the different angles, spins, distances etc. You have to know how the defender plays, their weaknesses, strengths etc.

I don't know if this will help anyone but I realized something a few months ago that I wish I had know 2 decades ago. Must of your weakness in your 'weak foot' isn't actually a problem with your weak foot at all. instead it's a dumbness in your dominant foot. Most of the problems I faced was because I didn't realize how smart my foot placement with my 'weak foot' had gotten over the years. Think about it, when you step up to hit a ball with your dominant foot, your 'weak foot' is planted in exactly the right place to allow you hit the ball. If you are anything like me this is completely automatic. There is no thought involved, you are concentrating on how you connect with the ball not really where your standing leg will land. The best thing I did to improve my ability with my weak foot was to do hundreds of drills concentrating only on 'strong foot' standing position close to the ball. If you film yourself, or even pay attention to what your feet are doing, while playing it's incredible the subtle movements you do with your 'weak' standing leg while playing. I hope this will be useful to someone who reads this. If I'd know this 20 years ago I'm sure I would have had 10x the career.

This is gold. You’re absolutely right, foot placement is everything, and it’s one of the most overlooked aspects of developing your “weak” foot. Most players focus on the striking foot but forget that the standing leg is the foundation for every solid connection. I love how you broke this down. To anyone reading: take this advice, film yourself, and study your standing foot. Fix that, and your weak foot will stop feeling weak. Great insight.
