If you cut it straight, it'll give a different effect but on bias, gives you that fish skirt effect naturally without having to contour.

To get the sleeves opening, you measure your shoulder plus sleeves length which should be the elbow length, then you measure your sleeve opening where your hands will come out through and notch it
