Thank you! Also if I sent you the practice exam for the future exams would you walk through them?

On question 6a why does -2^2 equal -4 and not 4?
@BeardMeetsCalculus2 күн бұрын
Be careful to check which part is being squared. In this case it is -(2)^2 which is -4, and not (-2)^2 which is 4.

On 6 b, if it does not ask to simplify, can I leave it as the sqrt(36t^2+36t^2+9t^4)?
@BeardMeetsCalculus2 күн бұрын
You would not have to simplify to get the points for 6b. However, without simplifying you would have a hard time getting the points for 6c. In general I like to give people the following rule: simplify only if it helps you, e.g. you are using it for another computation or if the instructions tell you to.

Question #10, part b - how do you have negative time?
@BeardMeetsCalculus6 күн бұрын
Negative time is a reflection that something happened prior to what you marked as time 0. Essentially it is in the past.

Thank you. I am a retiree who has taken up self-studying math as a hobby. I'm working my way through an old Thomas Calculus book. Sometimes I struggle for days to understand an explanation and playlists like this really help.
